Same, but I haven't had the flu since I was 10. The people I know who have had the flu recently, have all gotten the shot. Their explanation is always, "Well, the shots don't cover every strain"

Is it true they are constantly changing the vaccine during the winter months?

Would getting it at the beginning of October vs December have make any difference for the current year?

They can't work due to influenza replication process and on top of that there is evidence the flu shot is causing the flu strain to mutate into these more powerful variations.

Don't group the flu shot in with other vaccines. There is some legit content in most other vaccines.

The flu shot is nothing but a hoax and if you research the ingredients, adjuvents and the approval process it will make your gut churn.

lmao flu shots are not a hoax. There is just too much natural variation in strains of flu for it to be highly specific/effective. The best thing that can be done is try to provide a vaccine that is likely to work on whichever strain(s) they guess will be dominant.

Bottom line is that more people vaccinated = fewer people getting flu = fewer people spreading flu. Get a flu shot because its not just for you, its for people you come in contact with too.

First it’s flu shots for 20% discounts
Next it’ll be microchips under the skin or biometric checks

I'll hold off until I see some concrete evidence. Like I said earlier, besides very old and young people, the ones I know who have had the flu have all gotten vaccinated

Anecdotal again. The one time I've gotten the flu, I had not gotten the vaccine.

Yes. As did the entire medical team of specialists.

Did they publish their findings, or report them to the CDC? That's truly astounding.

Publix is offering a $10 gift card to get the shot.

There any side effects for me to get multiple flu shots?

That could be a lot of beer. I like beer.

Friend of mine who works at a hospital in Dallas said receiving the flu shot was a condition of employment for them.

Study after study is showing the more people get the flu shot the more the population gets sick.

Schools around me are getting shutdown just about every winter these years because of sickness. That was a RARE event when I was kid.

The flu shot cannot stop the spread of influenza. The sloppy RNA replication process just about guarantees it.

That is sad. If they really cared about the well being of patients and employees, they'd require everyone to wear the face masks as that is the only proven means to reduce infection rates.

One you vs everyone I've spoken to about it over several years.

Have you ever thought that maybe....getting the flu shot weakened your natural immunities to the flu? Do you wash your hands with alcohol all of the time? That's proven to be bad for you

I am guessing it was because they went to medical school, just like I did, and were taught that a small percent of Flu vaccinations can cause it. Here is a direct quote from the CDC website....

quote:

What causes GBS?

The exact cause of GBS is unknown, but about two-thirds of people who develop GBS experience symptoms several days or weeks after they have been sick with diarrhea or a respiratory illness. Infection with the bacterium Campylobacter jejuni is one of the most common risk factors for GBS. People also can develop GBS after having the flu or other infections (such as cytomegalovirus and Epstein Barr virus). On very rare occasions, they may develop GBS in the days or weeks after getting a vaccination.

It's actually not all that uncommon. My wife treated a patient a month ago in the Neuro ICU that was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre caused about a week after receiving the flu shot. A quick google search shows this is happening more and more each year

You said that they definitively assessed that the flu vaccine caused your patient's GBS. That very CDC page says that the cause "is unknown" and that people can develop GBS "after having the flu [i.e., not the flu vaccine] or other infections", and that they "may develop GBS in the days or weeks after getting a vaccination."

I'm not saying I know more than anyone (although I don't think your credentials are as significant as you are alluding to). I'm trying to ask about a definitive statement that you made.
