I don't think anyone is anti-vax towards flu shot. If you get the flu regularly or get sick regularly period, you should be getting the flu shot.

Ive had the flu once in my entire life, and it was very mild for me. Been sick with other serious crap once or twice ever. Basically the worst thing I ever get is a cold. There's no need for me to get a flu shot. If I start getting the flu often, then I will start getting the flu shot.

I didn't get the flu shot last year. Got the flu on 4th of July and it lasted 10 days. Pure misery. I. Wanted to. Die at one point. Couldn't sleep at all delirious. Just horrible. I'm getting one tomorrow just in case.

Yall can keep saying anecdotal all you want, but the proof is in the pudding. Just read through this thread. At what point does it stop being anecdotal for you, and start becoming reality? The shots DO NOT prevent the flu. Your body DOES prevent the flu.

And by "see concrete evidence", I mean physically seeing it benefitting people. It just doesn't in my world, and in fact, the people whom I've known to get the shot have gotten sick much more than the people who haven't.

You wanna prove it to me? Stop the flu altogether. Since you can't, I'll call BS on the vaccinations like you call BS on my experience.

Oh, I get it now!

You're a moron. It all makes sense now.

They would be better off to give doses of Tamiflu.

I wonder if they're anti all vaccines or just these new fangled ones like the flu shot or HPV.

Last year's flu that kicked everyone's butt was not covered in the 2017 shot.

I need to see some improvement in the CDC's guesswork before I get one again.

Who knows based on some of the posts.

I see it as a bunch of men scared of needles and trying to hide behind their lame excuses instead of admitting they are scared.

I don’t have time to get sick till next week. I am going to get the damn thing next Wednesday. If I get sick from this shot “ that won’t get me sick” I will be 3 for 3 getting sick when I get the shot. Will report back.

Why? What harm did it do to you if they guessed wrong for your area?

You do understand the difference between your immune system reacting to the vaccine and getting sick?

It is very normal for a vaccine to give you a low grade fever and some soreness and body aches. Doesn’t happen every time, but when it does it doesn’t mean the shot made you sick.

Now i under sand why so many people give you schitt on this board. I never have before but i don't mind doing so now. Frick you

Eta: I'll continue not getting the shot, and not worrying about getting the flu. You can continue getting the shot and worrying about the flu

Posting stuff straight from CDC website isn’t being a know it all.

It’s just knowing how to read.

I work in infection control. I discuss flu and flu shots all the time at work this time of year. Stuff I’ve posted is either straight from CDC or stuff my medical director(who is a very well respected infectious disease doctor) has educated us on.
