Yes, of course North Korea would be destroyed in a war with us, but likely not before they totally destroy Seoul, a city of about 20 million people. And then there's the strong possibly that China would come into the fight since it has a defense treaty with North Korea.

Yeah, of course... unfortunately there would be a lot of collateral damage.. It would be difficult to do without any.. But I would think that China would be the reason such war will never happen. Not to mention, I am sure South Korea would have no interest in this happening because there would be people pouring into SK from NK.
And if the US just goes over and wipes out a small country, that would not really look good on our side. I guess it all comes down to "how big of a threat NK really is?".
