In Genesis when God was speaking to Abraham about Sodom, he said if he found 50 or even one righteous man in the city, He would not destroy it. I still believe there is good in the world and God still believes in our potential. Maybe I'm wrong, but I have hope for the near future. In the end, mankind will absolutely fail and God will step in. I just don't believe the time is now.

Honestly, I think our only realistic (and rational) option is to focus on containing and isolating North Korea and continue to let them know that they will be destroyed if they attack us or an ally such as S. Korea or Japan. Our pre-emptively attacking them would lead to hundreds of thousands of innocent deaths, if not millions. The key to the long-term solution lies with China, of course. I completely understand why they don't want to see N. Korea collapse and then be annexed by S. Korea, but if we could make a deal with China in our mutual self-interest in which China swiftly overthrows the Kim family dynasty and installs sane, rational people of their own choosing, I could live with China maintaining control of N. Korea.

I’m not the most religious guy out there but at one time I was much more of a believer than I am now. Never once did I ever believe that the world was gonna end...just simply ain’t gonna happen.

This has already happened with the birth, death, and resurrection of Christ.
As for the end times, the biggest sign that it is near would be the establishment of Israel nearly 70 years ago and I agree that Jerusalem being recognized as the capital is significant and could certainly unify the muslims against Israel, dragging in Russia and the US, etc.

Something I never understood about those that believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible: They typically believe in the literal word except when it comes to end time prophesy. Then they look for symbolism and metaphors to try to find applicable meaning to modern events.
