In just 58,848 days — on Sept. 24, 2182 — NASA scientists say an asteroid the size of the Empire State Building has a slight chance of hitting Earth.

Any chance we can make it happen sooner?

The earth will be a no fly zone by then. Universe wide travel advisories will have been sent and no self respecting asteroid would be caught near this planet.

By that point every person on earth’s consciousness can be uploaded to a microchip the size of a penny where we they can continue their lives in a virtual reality that’s indistinguishable from reality.

Or did that already happen?

We should be out of here by then if tech keeps evolving exponentially like it has the last 100 years

If humans haven't figured out how to deflect an asteroid in the next 160 years then they deserve to die.

I'm pretty sure there will be a thermonuclear exchange before then.

Any chance they can fast track that? I kind of hate the way this world is right now.

We can't predict the weather the day it happens. But we can predict an event possibly happening in 2182?
