The Economist: time to examine the “dark underbelly of Paw Patrol”

I’m old enough to remember when this was a serious, respected magazine. Now it sounds like they got the Teen Vogue disease.

Time to examine why The Economist still exists.

I don't think it's outlandish to think that programming has a slant. Especially one as prolific as Paw Patrol.
It's why the barrier of entry for for independent creators to create shows and get an audience has been so important.
All of the people I watch are DIYers on youtube and runners. Not much of a slant besides product placement.

Yea, but it should balance out since only 1 of them are white.
Plus, I'm pretty sure the first 2 addons were both females

The writer of that article needs a national tour of public shaming, complete with rotten fruits and vegetables and eggs.

I’ve been meaning to cancel. This seals it. I remember they used to be a serious publication.

It's always been a meme/joke that Paw Patrol is pro-fascism propaganda. I guess today a write for The Economist had nothing better to do than turn that joke into an article and pass it off as legitimate.

my five-yr old daughter wouldn't give a shite about paw patrol if wasn't for the pink girl dog that flies. I have watched it with her and pointed out when the bossy arse cop dog is overstepping its little authority.

I miss the simpler days where Sesame Street taught kids it was cool to hang out on the street all day and do nothing.

Yes.
If you read the article, its wanting to make fun of the "controversy", while also doing their own psychoanalysis of the cartoon
Don't try to make fun of the ridiculousness of the politicizing a children's cartoon, while also doing the "well acktually" meme

Teen Vogue was discontinued as a separate brand last November and now is just merged into Vogue.
With that being said, it was really weird for about its last decade in existence. Almost all of its articles were about politics, and usually woke politics at that. Its articles never seemed to have anything to do with fashion, let alone teen fashion. I read some statistic on the demographics of its readers and IIRC only about 2% of its readers were even under age 25 or so. (Let alone actual teens.)

Sounds like someone yelped for help and was turned down by the paw patrol.
What a loser

The Economist hasn't been a serious magazine for quite a few years now. This is sadly par for the course for them now.
