Nobody likes to back into a spot more than a white woman in a full size SUV.

Yea, I agree with ya. It's easy to pull in and back up when you leave. I think they would rather everyone else wait for them to back in, than for them to wait for a clearance to back out. Plus they cant handle their massive truck but still need to park as close to the destination as possible. God forbid they find some open space near the back of the parking lot and walk their fat asses to the feeding trough.

Backing into a spot when you know the current conditions in the parking lot in a bigger vehicle is just smart business.

Who knows what kind of bullshite someone will have pulled by the time you leave wherever you are.

Its also statistically safer to back in vs back out. The best method is just to park farther away and pull through so you don't have to back at all.

I've had to reverse park for so long at work it's just ingrained at this point. I even back into my garage.

and what gives?

My car only has a frunk, so if I don't back in, it's very difficult to access it.

People who back into spots enjoy taking it in the rear.

Why is this such a big deal?

Because 90% of people who do this take 200-300% longer to park and I have to watch your stupid arse do this for a minute before i can move on down the lane so i can park.

I back my truck in because there's always some idiot who doesn't pull in the parking space completely leaving 3 to 4' feet of their vehicle hanging out.

I'm not wasting my time to navigate some idiot's inability to park.

Absolutely, the pull through is always 100% the best option when available.

Teamsters teach drivers this. Most accidents occur backing out of space not into it

Drove a truck on LSU’s campus, back in was basically mandatory. No longer drive a truck but still back in always

With all cameras on trucks, it's 100 times easier to back into a parking spot than it is to pull in forward.

Angled spots made to direct pull-in, should always be pull in. Non-angled spots should be back-in. It's not a look at me, it is 100% safety and why AAA recommends backing into spaces because it allows for a windshield view of traffic and pedestrians both when arriving and leaving the parking spot. It also allows for zipper evacuation when leaving a parking lot in the case of an emergency. It takes under 5 minutes to evacuate a 250 car lot if everyone is backed in. It takes half an hour or more if everyone is pulled in. That is not including injury risk to pedestrians or accidents as drivers are not simply zippering through their windshield but attempting to back up into cross traffic.

I do it to see pedestrians easier when leaving. No one has courtesy any more to make way for the departing vehicle. Just plodding along staring at their phones.
