I was never a back into the space guy until recently when I switched back to a Tundra. That fricker is big so if there's not much room for me to make a wide turn into the spot, I have to back into it otherwise I'd park crooked as hell or hit the car in the next spot. My wife drives a 2021 Pilot and that little fricker may as well be a zero turn mower because I can park anywhere in any situation with that thing

I do it because there will always be an idiot speeding through a parking lot staring at their phone. I’d rather see them first.

The worst are the ones who back up in a space that has a sidewalk and the back of the truck sticks out and blocks the sidewalk. I understand everything is all about you, but there are people who need the sidewalk. You are not important.

With a long wheelbase vehicle it is the only way to get into a typical parking spot many times.
Ever use a pallet Jack or forklift? There is a reason that the wheels that turn (laterally) are at the back not the front of these.
I’m tired of explaining this to soyboys.

This drives me crazy! I can't stand when I'm entering a smaller parking lot and a car in front of me decides to stop and back in (usually isn't successful the first time) and results in a traffic jam in a Walgreens parking lot.

I’m a pull through parker. I like to park a little farther out than the crowds. Just to avoid congestion and stupid drivers/parkers. So I try to find a spot where I can pull through. So it may look as though I backed in. But I almost certainly did not.
On FSD, my Tesla backs into superchargers obviously and some other spots. But I usually don’t let it park itself.

I recently visited the Colonial Pipeline headquarters. Drove through the parking garage looking for a spot and of the 100+ cars there every single one - no exaggeration - was backed in. I asked why and was told it is company policy. Their number one priority at the company is safety. Backing in to a parking space is backing into a controlled environment. There is no cross traffic in a parking space. Backing out of a parking spot is backing out into chaos. Limited sight lines, potential cross traffic, pedestrians, cyclists, etc. The first thought that crosses their mind when they arrive at work is about parking safely.

We are required to back in at my office. It is a safer method of parking.

unless im holding you up....why do you give a frick?
1) its much easier to back into a tight spot than to pull forward when in a larger vehicle
2) its much easier to leave instead of having to back out into traffic
It pissing off pussies who get their vagina all sandy when they see it....yea just a bonus

Ive tried to be understanding but youre just... wrong. Its NOT easier, I can fly into my spot, I can fling it in reverse and whip out too. 0 effort.
You can claim that in a busy parking lot that its safer to back in so you can leave with higher visibility.
You CANNOT say its easier to back in and leave facing forward, its factually wrong.

Sound theory. Ultimately it's all relative. Not every parking lot and situation is the same. In my situation - the parking lot where I work I don't think it's an advantage or harder or easier either way - but not every parking lot is the same as ours.
