The Boring Company has officially closed the latest funding round at about a $20 billion valuation. The actual amount raised was not disclosed.
Elon Musk has confirmed that investors who joined the latest round were told they must help recruit staff, introduce government officials in cities where the company wants to build, and drive future business or risk having some of their shares bought back.
Smart move and along the same lines of how SpaceX set prerequisites for banks that wanted drive the IPO.

If tweet fails to load, click here. That Elon guy sure is an idiot, as UFF and a few other posters pointed out to me the other day. It's pretty easy to build multiple billion-dollar companies, after all.

Pretty amazing anyone signs on for this considering how poorly Las Vegas has gone.
The last few stations they built were just bus stops on surface streets. Plus they still have drivers in a one way tunnel that takes forever.
Maybe Las Vegas is the throw away project

The entrance to the Nashville operation is one block from my downtown office. It's going to be huge game changer for tourism here.

It’s nuts how profitable a company can be if you just focus your efforts on the job, and not build these huge regimes of people. Twitter for example.

At some point yall have to admit that guys like Elon and other rich guys in the military industrial complex are the reason we get shafted as taxpayers. They pay off politicians and get an ever larger piece of the pie while producing nothing of value
I wish they had a trillionaire start “the paving company” and go around fixing roads

Boring Boeing
I wonder how often they’re confused or even conflated?
Kinda ironic that the raison d'être for one is underground and the other is over the ground.
