And for some reason, I'm okay with this. You're welcome young man. Just mention my name while you're railing that slut.

agree. I initially thought it’d be more in the 200k range

From what I read, $100k is the starting point where it phases out, with around $200k the complete phase out amount. So those between $100k and $200k get something, just not the full amount.

But it’s stupid anyway because it’s based on 2018 or 2019 tax returns, and a lot of people with reported income for those years will have already been laid off.

yes, baw. People all over the world are dying from a global pandemic, people are losing businesses and being forced to shutdown, service and entertainment industry labor is without work, retirement savings have lessened by 30% in a week for the old baws, but it's truly the educated baws like you and I who are fortunate enough to continue to work and not feel the squeeze from this pandemic yet that are getting the "f'n shaft"

I guess the question is... if their parents have been unemployed their whole lives and already living off the government.. how has their situation changed? Is giving pieces of shite $3200 a good use of tax payer funds?

These type parasites will be first to get checks.

You did all this and still need the stimulus? Lolol what a loser

Loser??

I'd have thought a Tennessee fan would have a better understanding of that term, lately.

Like many of us, he pays taxes and wouldn't mind being in control of how they're being spent- even if on a small scale.

If you can't understand that, you're probably one of the 45% who don't pay income tax. Or just think like one of them.

To be fair, I don't think we've balanced a budget since the Clinton administration so it'll prolly be your kids or grandkids that will be paying for this stimulus package

I'd rather have my job, and I'm incredibly grateful mine is safe. A lot of hardworking Americans are getting buttfricked by no fault of their own.

It will come back. We are fairly close in age and I'm not sweating the market much right now. I've been doing a little buying.

Yeah, I was being a bit dramatic with the South Park reference, but it does feel that way.

Since immediately after the last crash, my wife and I have weathered serious cancer and treatment and that work disruption, three rounds of IVF that dinged us financially, two pregnancies, one kid and one coming soon; we work hard to maintain our rental properties (which were just getting to nice cashflow), and put as much of our income as possible in tax-deferred retirement accounts (and use every other tax device available).

So, we are buying stocks etc too (every paycheck). I run my own practice though and it's a sketchy freaking time for people like us (we employ and serve a lot of people, so it def trickles down).

It sucks....but if that is what is needed to allow people who had jobs but are struggling because they arent allowed to work to get help....then so be it.

My wife's business is shutdown during all of this but at least I'm still able to work...it sucks...but it could be worse.

In normal circumstances, I wouldn’t need it. But I just bought a house and haven’t had time to rebuild my savings. If I got a check, it’s going into my savings until the market stabilizes and starts to improve. Then I’ll throw it in my investment account.

To all you baws and bawettes who worked hard, got an education, kept a clean record, just remember you won’t be get any stimulus money! We will be paying for everyone else’s though! Turns my fricking stomach! Cheers to the ones out there really carrying the load.

The average person will get the full stimulus package.

Stop spraying this dumb shite that individuals making 50-75k or families making over 100k aren’t carrying the load.

It is when we all deal with the consequences of the deficit spending to provide such checks.

They should just suspend income tax and give us all 100% refunds on anything withheld in 2019.

Now that would stimulate the economy. I’d be buying a house and paid off debt last of my debt

Definitely true.

Nobody wants innocent children to suffer, but those types of parents won't use stimulus money to benefit kids.

Don’t need it thankfully, lot of people that are the backbone of services everyone relies on typically are losing their job and can’t pay rent.

I would have just put mine into the S&P Index fund right now.

If you’re stretched thin and make a significant salary maybe it’s time to look in the mirror

If you don't need it, you shouldn't bitch about it. I won't get it and I consider myself lucky to not need it. Some people will bitch about fricking anything. Think of the people who are hourly and don't have shite to fall back on. Anybody bitching about not getting a handout because they make too much money needs to do some self reflection.
