The sheer stupidity of some of this is mind boggling.
It’s called willful ignorance combined with textbook narcissism. My way of thinking is right and you can’t tell me anything to change that.

Well we can't have people being exposed to the truth. We've got to shut that shite down.

Please understand that the old rules of elections settling everything down stopped applying in 2000 with Bush/Gore debacle in FL.
The Dems proved they would not go away quietly if election results were not to their liking. Fast forward to the melt that has continued for nearly 4 years after Trump beat Hillary
While I agree that everything won't be solved by in an election cycle or two, I just can't advocate for anything else that I think is a reasonable or possible response.
I'm not going to advocate for a violent uprising. I don't think those of us that want our society to be hard working, family loving, spiritual (to whatever God or higher power you choose, as long as Love They Neighbor fits in there somewhere), and an overall beneficial to American society as we know (knew?) it have the stones to FORCE change. I'm not going to take up my shotgun and march down Main street to force change and I assume that most people feel like I do. All we can do is vote and hope that elections have positive consequences. Maybe it's a pipe dream at this point, but it's all I know what to hope for.

I think silencing people in this country sets a precedent that makes me uneasy.
Honestly, the firing of people over social media posts is something I am not all that comfortable with, unless it is proven the post was made while that person was at work, or made from company computer or phone. The exception to that would maybe be public servants making inflammatory posts that could call into question their objectiveness in carrying out their job.

Where did you find this stat? Also, this doesn’t affect me. I live in Tennessee. I presume you live in Atlanta. Just stick to what you do daily and I can almost guarantee none of this is going to disrupt your life.
The inability to meet in the middle, on both sides, is the bigger issue. The heels dug in mentality. The seemingly rooting for chaos on both sides in order to validate ones opinion is a problem.
IMO, anyways.

Couldn’t agree more
The Brett Weinstein ordeal comes to mind. He is actually not a bad person yet was put through a living hell for trying to bring some sense to a complicated issue. He understood a precedent was being set and when he voiced it, he was drowned out and lambasted by those with the inability to listen.
My bigger concern on all of this is that the loudest voices on either side aren’t necessarily the....smartest. Just the loudest.

I just disagree with this. I live in Atlanta, where we've had scores of police officers resign in the last few weeks. We already couldn't hire enough. Our arrest numbers are way down (because cops are hesitant - per WSB ABC affiliate). I've not been directly impacted by riots, but I've seen the damage and I've spent a couple of late nights because there were lawless protests in the area. TBH, we're probably going to move. Not because I'm particularly scared of something happening to me, but because I don't want to live under a government that persecutes cops and abrogates the rule of law to appease a mob. I don't want to live in an area where the cops may or may not come, or where I may or may not be thrown to the wolves because the DA and Mayor are scared of what the mobs will do if they don't.
This isn't really a "both sides" issue. Only one side is setting fires, tearing down statues, committing violence in the street and showing up at the homes of anyone who objects to their actions. Only one side is doing that. Only one side is openly calling for the death of police, for the death of whiteness, etc.
This isn't left-right. It's a pluralistic, liberal, rule of law society vs. one where identity politics is everything, mobs control political parties and corporations and wrongthink is punishable by destruction/violence for which there are few if any consequences.
We got here because nobody cared what was being taught in education, philosophy, humanities departments. This was a slow burn. It took a couple of decades for this radicalism to start bearing fruit. And yes, it's still a small minority, but now we've seen what 1% of the country can do to our societal order, haven't we?

My issue with most of these things is not that they are being done, rather the group behind the action.
As was posted yesterday, the co-founders of this movement are trained Marxists who are also fully trained in organizing protests to fit that mold and may I add they are executing this to perfection. Once you have carte blanche to do what you want the sky is the limit. No one can or will question you going forward and anyone who disagrees is toast.
Once again, this movement is not really about what they say it is, it is about them controlling the country and converting everyone to Marxism. The chaos and anarchy is to hit the reset button. That is the end goal. Everyone thinking it is something else is fooling themselves.

Brett Weinstein predicted this civil unrest. Very smart man. Hear his prediction, it's worth the listen.

I disagree. The lack of accountability for police officers abusing their power and badge is a huge problem in this country, and has been for decades. Chauvin had something like 18 excessive force complaints on his record, and little to no punishment for them, and worse he was in a leadership position. And he's just one example of countless across the country. There's only so much abuse people will take before they respond.

And organizing Karens to pressure citizens and media platforms to orchestrate digital book burnings by eliminating viewpoints critical of these marxists from the American landscape any way they can.

That'll do it alright.

If I was more of a cynic, I'd argue you're being purposefully obtuse by conflating the issues and subtly trying to make this whole debacle about cops when it obviously is not.
But, sure, on the cops-organic protests issue, it's a two sided discussion.
On everything else that has followed, no, it's not. And obviously the CHAZ and tearing down statues of founders and getting people cancelled have nothing to do with police brutality. That was just an initial spark used to ignite the ideological battles we're seeing.

That’s a lot to respond to specifically at the moment, so I’ll just say for now that I disagree with a lot of your points.

I'm intrigued, because I'm not really sure what's subjective or debatable in my post. I do think people can reasonably disagree on how "concerning" these things are (as opposed to whether the things are true/accurate/actually happening).
