WTF are you even talking about? I’ve never seen anyone worship a statue in public, and the only people being a-holes in public are those tearing down statues, looting, beating people up, attacking cops, and trying to tear this country apart, and all in the name of justice. Gimme a break.

So do you think the majority of the people you don't agree with on these stances are doing these things. Because they aren't.

Anyone know who said that?

That's right- it was I.

No, but it’s the spirit behind every bit of it.

There’s an enormous difference in between peacefully protesting in favor of police reforms or demanding higher qualifications for police along with perhaps more pay, etc, and demanding defunding the police and stopping them from doing their jobs, or attacking the police, or even doing as racists do and equate all police with the lowest common denominator that happened to have snuck into the police.

There’s an enormous difference in between peacefully gathering to show your outrage and looting, vandalizing, destroying public property, and attacking people based on the color of their skin.

There is also an enormous difference in ALL OF THAT which comes from Floyd, and telling people they have to kneel or they are cancelled, silencing people’s free speech and interpreting what they are saying as racist by default rather than listening with your ears what they are actually saying and giving them the latitude to do just that without condemning them, attacking historical statues, flags, States, firing people, etc, and ALL IN THE NAME OF JUSTICE...

There’s no justice in any of that, and so there’s not place for that in America. Not one person is justifying what was done to Floyd on either side of this argument, but only one side is justifying the wholesale destruction of this country, and it’s not mine, that’s a fact.

My 85 year old mother said the Supreme Court was rigged because they're all Catholic or Jewish. I told her it was weird that bothers her.

Was this something she saw on Fox News? If not, I need to investigate, and see if she's reading the Political Board Q thread.

An arrest I don't fully agree with based on the video I saw, by the way.

What do you suggest the officers did instead?

In fairness I think he's saying he's not fully on board with the charges against the officers (could be wrong).

I'm a veteran and I really dont think that the army I served 10 years ago would be ok with this and would have probably done something about it, like so many civilizations have done before them. I'm not in touch with anyone still in. Weve all moved on. I just wonder what the military is like now. Is it largely divided regarding these issues? It was pretty damn unified in its discontent with the obama administration at that time. Any thoughts?

If trump and high ranking generals could rally support to squash this domestic terrorism, for the sake of our economy and overall value system as a nation, I might not be too opposed. Call me a fascist, but sometimes you have to fight fire with fire

Correct.

Though I will say I'm not completely comfortable with my position given that he was shot twice in the back. I don't think that case is as cut & dry as the George Floyd one is.

IMHO, even a weakened, poverty-stricken, destitute and war-weary Germany of 1919 had more strength and resolve to defeat their own Marxist Revolution than does 2020 USA.

2020 USA is rapidly weakening and ACTUALLY REWARDING the use of violent revolutionary Marxist provocations.

Hate to say it, but, I see an American nation-state slowly dying before my eyes. Also hate to say it -- Donald Trump is the one man that can save the USA? Man, the truth of that realization really hurts me. It should not all have to fall on his shoulders.

If we can vote out a lot of the politicians that are allowing it, we have a chance to stop it but if we vote them back in or more like them (Democrat Senators, Governors, Mayors) then we are in trouble. It's imperative that we show our displeasure at the polls in the next 2 elections, presidential and next in 2 years (Isn't the Congressional in 2 years?) I don't know, may be wrong at that second part but either way,

Take the Mississippi senate and congressional elections from earlier this year to last year for
example. You had Chris McDaniel who would have made a lot of noise in the senate standing up for traditional conservative values, help the Trump agenda along, etc, but what did we do? We sent Cindy Hyde smith back up there. Just a quiet, little old lady who does what she’s told. Additionally, James Tulp ran for a congressional seat, same mold as McDaniel, and he lost to a rino.
My point is this: even conservative voting blocs don’t know their politics or what they stand for anymore than dyed in the wool Dems. True conservatism is overshadowed by rinos who say nothing during culture wars as long as they keep sending money to the state. White suburban rinos are really starting to chap my a s s as bad as Liberals have been.

Lots, really. But as I’ve come to find out in recent months, most of these debates lead to nowhere because neither side can find common ground. I disagree with much of your post on a fundamental level, but it’s really not even worth discussing because I don’t expect to change your mind, and I don’t expect you will change mine. We see the world differently in a number of ways.

And I don’t really have the energy to go through the whole left vs right, rioters vs police argument with you when I know it is just going to be a waste of time for us both. Agree to disagree.

Just being honest. I see the points you make, and I understand your mindset. I just see it differently.

While I agree that everything won't be solved by in an election cycle or two, I just can't advocate for anything else that I think is a reasonable or possible response.
What I wanted to address was our well-intended but naive expectations. We are looking at lawless Marxist anarchists. We should not expect these people to go along with any election result that a Republican, especially Trump, wins on November 3. See what happened after 2016. Expect worse after November 3.
