Huh, ive never driven in a double roundabout like that. I may get a little confused at first too.

Exactly

All the smartasses in this thread think that the average person can't figure out a basic single lane roundabout are mistaken.

This one is tight and involves lane changes and multi lane entries and exits.

It's not that straightforward considering parts of it are still blocked off and there isn't a ton of signage other than lane paint.

Eta: I'm not saying we have lots of great drivers, but this roundabout is slightly more complicated than, say, the one near Fred's.

I'm not traffic engineer, but it seems to me that they made those roundabouts much to small for the amount of traffic that goes though there. The circle needs to be about twice the size it is.

To be fair, the project isn't completed yet. I'm sure opening that righthand lane will improve flow and make things easier for those using the roundabout

the entire issue here is the only countries with populations that are dumber, on average, than Americans are third world countries who dont have real roads. those european countries have less trashy people who are in turn more considerate drivers. all those assholes who are too busy throwing their mcdonalds trash out the window cant even spell right of way. they damn sure DGAF whose turn it is. same idiots cant figure out a simple 4 way stop. if they are gonna use these things they really need to step up driver's licensing exams.

Seems like the paint on the outside I-12 exit lane is wrong.

It seems like that lane will only have the option to go south on 447 and not continue around the loop.

Its a shite show right now b/c of the continued construction. But!... people around here simply can't grasp how they work so it's a little of both.

Also it's a much bigger one than what they put at Eden Church and Florida which contributes to the confusion as well.

I'm convinced it's a scheme from the piles of shite over at walker polees department.

They got word that their "new chargers and BMW bikes every 2 years" deal is falling through and they needed to up their revenue stream. Can't be seen riding around in some low brow crown vic or those trashfire Harley bikes. No sir re Bob.

The roundabout is their new revenue stream from all the accidents and road rage it will cause.

The roundabout built at the corner of 1077/1085 near Hannan High in Covington is the single greatest traffic improvement project I've ever experienced.

Livingston people must be really dumb if it is making things worse for them

They have roundabouts in Hammond, New Roads, Central, and Baton Rouge without issues.

There are roundabouts ALL OVER Lafayette Parish. Scott, LA understands roundabouts. SCOTT.

Keep it real, LP. Real stupid.

You'd think that if it were an incomplete project that they would at least wait until its done before they trashed it so badly.

They put a roundabout in Livingston Parish. They were complaining before construction started.

How about they do some ads on TV explaining how they should work instead of just expecting every idiot drover will just naturally know how to use them?

Maybe they should allow people to take classes and explain the rules and laws of the road.

I'm a transplant to Walker, and I can vouch for the ignorance of these folks driving them, but the Hammond folks are much worse.

The problem is that people get into the roundabout and jump into the left lane and can’t figure out how to get out.
