So many questions here:

He went missing as a Texas teenager more than eight years ago and turned up alive Saturday as a 25-year-old man.
The Texas Center for the Missing said Saturday that Rudy Farias, of Houston, the subject of nationwide concern, has been "located safe" and is recovering in a hospital for reasons not mentioned.
Farias was found at a church about 8 miles from where he lived in Houston, said Tim Miller, an investigator with Texas EquuSearch who helped search for Farias.
"It's a miracle that he was found but now the question is, you know, what’s happened?" Miller said. "Where has he been? Why? And what’s he been doing over these last eight years?"
He was last seen walking his two dogs on March 6, 2015, near his home, according to authorities. One dog, then the other returned home without their leashes, and Farias, then 18, disappeared, authorities said.
Family members said he suffered from depression, particularly after he lost an older brother to a motorcycle accident years before.
"He watched his best friend die right in front of him," Brenda Paradise, a private investigator hired by the Farias family, said in April 2015. "His brother was his best friend in the world. He’s just gone through so much more than anyone his age ever should."
Houston police didn't suspect foul play, but friends and family were concerned nonetheless, particularly as time wore on.
"This family has been through so much," Paradise said in 2015. "Whatever happened, a mom needs answers about her son.”
It's not clear where he's been or why he left.

Yeah just saw this on the news. Apparently he isn’t speaking yet.

Assuming the parents aren't involved.....I can't imagine what that must be like for them.
I'm sure they never gave up, but at some point.....reality sort of sets in.
This is Great News for them.

Something is fishy about this story. Teenagers just don't disappear and can't be found for 8 years. They're not smart enough to disappear without a trace, so I have a feeling there is a lot more to the story.

If he wasn’t abducted I could never do this to my mother.

Remember “the gimp” from pulp fiction? That’s who he’s been for 8 years

Schizophrenia often appears at around 18.

Clearly we don’t know all what transpired here, but this seems like an incredibly cruel thing to do to your family, especially given your parents had already lost a child. Rudy’s got some explaining to do here.

Why? It seems pretty clear he was just a runaway.

As parents, I am sure you never give up hope, but at the time time, after a certain period it has to be in the back of their mind, especially as time goes on, that their child is likely dead.. Especially considering that he was depressed and what he went through.
But at the age of 18? Anyone can get kidnapped I guess, but it seems like it would be more difficult to kidnap an 18 year old (unless holding them up at gun point).

Not sure what you mean here. Reality was he’s been alive the whole time

That was my first thought, but an 18 disappearing without a trace and not so much as a hint as to his whereabouts in the age of cell phones and cameras everywhere is just hard to believe.
And with all the people the family seems to have had looking for him you'd think if he popped up somewhere for any length of time someone would have reported it. Just weird.
