Didn’t realize we had so many anti-hunters here.

What do you mean? This is hunting still, just the hunter became the prey. I think it's exciting. In your mind, should the guy with the gun always win? It's nature and it's awesome. Whether hunting ends with meat on the table, or someone dead on a hunt, it's great either way.

FAFO

I am surprised that more tourists in Yellowstone don't suffer the same fate from taking selfies with those massive creatures.

I can deal with people shooting something like a buffalo because at least you can eat it. The giraffe, lion, elephant stuff never sat well with me. If you're going to eat it, I don't care if you kill it for the most part.

Because he and others fail to see that sports hunters=/= poachers.

The conservation efforts funded by these hunts help maintain healthy populations, as well as providing economic help to the areas that are desperately needed. If sports hunters did not go on these hunts there would not be money for combating poachers in the area, nor would there be funding for the conservation efforts in the area to maintain healthy populations.

American bison are not nearly as aggressive as cape buffalo. In terms this board would understand, it's like an English bulldog vs a pit (relatively speaking).

He knew what he was getting into going on a hunt like that. Sucks for him and his family though.

Not to mention that the meat goes to locals because you can't bring it home. Thet get a lot of meat, what is a lot of money to them, and the hunter gets the experience and a trophy. Unless you're shooting lions and giraffes and shite, it's pretty much a win for everyone.

$10000 isn’t staggering for a hunt IMO. Especially for one of the big 5.

Sounds like it was a true hunt, and not a sterilized pen kill. I hate it for his family, but I have no issue with these type of hunts.

Pretty much all the animals are donated and eaten. You don't get to bring that meat home.
