Maybe not, but there are a whole hell of a lot more jobs in Texas. If you aren't a brother, sister, cousin have some blackmail material in La you aint gettin that high payin job. You can have the best degree ever and some simpleton missing half his teeth just got your job because his daddy said so. It's the Louisiana way.
Politicians make the most money in the state of Louisiana. They may not report the vast majority of it but it is there.

This started because of your idiotic comment. The one that said besides the higher standard of living, lower tax rate and much better education what did Texas have on Shithole state next door.
SO YES you are definitely trying to move the goalposts and looking like an idiot doing it. You are even having to bring up other states to try to counteract the greatness of little ole Texas.

I make pretty good money in IT in Louisiana and have for 20 years. I've had job offers in Raleigh and Dallas over the years and neither were for much more than I was already making.

Yeah, that's another knock on Louisiana. Nowhere near as many people but they need way more medical professionals. Louisiana is just so pitiful in every aspect of living it is really sad. But yawl have culture. Yippy!!!!

Lafayette?
* Well Lafayette is so huge. Is it fair to compare it to small towns in Texas like Dallas and Houston?

1) the standard of living argument is bullshite
2)If you aren’t living in the triangle, you likely aren’t getting the better job opportunities and school advantage
3)if you live in the triangle, your outdoor opportunities not as good as Louisiana’s. Simple fact.

Sure. But not all of us care about sitting in a deer stand freezing our nuts off.

Not sure why anyone with sense is posting more than once in this thread. Pandy is a bad troll & GLT/Ree have the combined IQ of a cactus.

You have no idea, do you? fricking Laredo and the Rio Grande Valley are loaded with giant schools, new facilities, and many opportunities for kids.
And job opportunities? If you think job opportunities are bad outside of the triangle (which you so conveniently use to build or tear down your own arguments), then try to explain the growth of population and business in Laredo, the Valley, El Paso, Corpus Christi, even Amarillo and Lubbock.

That's another fallacy made up by the idiot.
In West Texas all new cars have ultrasonic horns mounted on them because there are so many deer. You can sit for a couple hours and choose the one you want. Letting some damn good deer walk away. Where we hunted in La if you saw a deer you shot at a deer. I was made fun of by the regulars while at first hunting around Kerrville and Weatherford Texas.

How many people who claim to live in Houston or Dallas actually live 30 minutes outside of the city?
ETA: if I moved to Houston my job wouldn’t pay more, my wife’s job wouldn’t pay more, I would still have to pay for private school (my wife refuses to drive 30+ minutes to work and I don’t blame her), my home would be more expensive (because I would live in the city and not the suburbs), it wouldn’t be “safer” than my current city, so what else am I really getting?

Most of them. It's why I always laugh when people say other states don't have the private school expense. You can move to the burbs here too and put your kid in public schools.
I've got nothing against Texas but I've always found that comparison funny.

The only thing Texas has on Louisiana is jobs and maybe taxes.

Lubbock had 15% growth at last census, and is home to a major university. I find it very boring, but it’s still better than most LA cities.
El Paso has been ranked as one of the safest cities in the country several times within the last decade. It’s right next to the Franklin Mountains. Very large military sector. Grew 15.2% at last census. Huge Hispanic cultural scene and also a poor city. Hmm...actually makes it sound like a Mexican version of Louisiana cities.

Now you’re priding suburban Louisiana public schools? You’re the same guy who said he doesn’t have kids, but when he does he’s sending them to private schools...even in Winchester, MA.

Nothing to do with me. I was offered a job BEFORE I graduated college. Spent the first couple years out of school in Maryland Heights Missouri. Never went back to Louisiana and don't think I could. It's hard to stay more than a couple days when I go to visit.

Not having to live in Louisiana for one.
Lucky your kids can go to a private school. These are the normal people they have to deal with when they aren't paying their way to be in school.
Louisiana is ranked 49th in the nation on a test of college readiness called the ACT, down from 45th last year, according to results released Tuesday.Oct 30, 2019
And then you always have this. These are the people you see whenever you leave your neighborhood for anything other than to pick your kids up at their "Buy an education" place.
Louisiana, which ranks 50th overall, performed the worst among all states in the areas of economic opportunity, pollution and crime and corrections. The state was also near the end of the list in terms of economy, ranking 49th in economic growth, as well as education and infrastructure, both ranking 48th in the nation.May 14, 2019
I can certainly understand why you would hate to give all of that up. Louisiana is on the way up. Model state and government. Will soon pass Mississippi on the ladder of success. You must be so proud.
