The Second Amendment? No, we don't.

Go with me on this for a second, let's say there are 10 more mass shooting by Islamic terrorist in the next year, what would your plausible solution be?

If I had a plausible solution for that scenario, I'd be a national hero.

But it is common sense that, if there are 10 Islamic terrorists planning mass murder next year, that banning weapons purchases by those on a no-fly list will, in all likelihood, not prevent a single one of them.

If you're a US citizen, a Muslim, and make several trips to Saudi or other hotbeds of terrorism, should you be put on this list automatically?

See, you've got this backward. "May or may not" is not the threshold we should ever be using to strip a constitutional right.

There hasn't been a single mass shooting by someone on the "no fly list", so it's just usless feel good legislation.

See, this is the problem. You're told, "we want to ban terrorists from getting weapons." And you say, "well, shite. That sounds logical." But people are too lazy to stop and think about why and how. Then the NRA blocks bad legislation that you silly fricks thought would be a great idea, the libs call the NRA irrational lunatics and then you monkey dicks start believing them, because "it's a no brainer." Right?

This guy gets it.

Anyone can purchase a firearm, it's an issue of whether or not it's legal.

So you prefer people on the terrorist list be able to buy guns because they have some people on the list who are not terrorist?

You creating a false dilemma. If we fix the stupid list, so it's not stupid, we can use it. You're saying there are only 2 choices - the stupid list (which is unconstitutional) or the terrorists get guns. Well, I got news for you, Sparky, the SB male passed a background check. He was concerned about passing another one, so he got brother-in-law to conduct a proxy sale (which is - you guessed it - ILLEGAL and defeated any background check.)

So, I say fix the list. Same with the mental health bullshite. Folks want people to snitch on their family members neighbors or patients. If the person is a threat? Give them notice and hearing. If a judge agrees, put them on a "no buy gun" list for 3 years. But, frankly, this is a poor solution at best, because if they're not safe to own guns, they're not safe to be driving cars around my children and grandchildren, near my water supply or anywhere around me.

I'm looking at you, all those folks who want to bring folks here from Syria, Afghanistan, Gaza, known terrorist hotbeds... If they're not here, we won't need to put them on the list in the first place.

Kind of an obvious decision here don't you think?

The 14th amendment makes clear that it is unconstitutional to deprive someone of constitutional rights without due process. Considering the FBI DOES NOT need to deal with due process to get people on the lists, such a gun restriction is unconstitutional under the 14th amendment.

So a large percentage of the OT/OB could easily meet the definition of mentally ill, or batshit cray, and might make some watch list of home grown terrorists, that they refuse to allow the gubmint to block their acquisition of that 4th AR-15, for the eventual zombiepocalypse, of SHTF event.

I understand you'r second point about people being added arbitrarily, and that is a concern that should be addressed, but this part makes no sense. It may or may not stop gun violence from those on the list, but saying that it won't be effective therefore we should continue to keep access as open as possible is a terrible argument.

Why doesn't the Governent put a flag on anyone attempting to purchase a gun that is on the watch list and issue a delay (NICS delays can last up to a week) That gives the FBI time to start a in depth review/ investigation if needed. No laws have to change for this to happen.

What's the most gun free place in the world? I'm talking has the absolute most stringent gun laws. A single gun pretty much does not even exist in this place. Gun's according to this place are a fabrication of imagination. There is no way to get one, legally, or illegally there.

And yet, the most significant terror attack in US history happened in this place. How did it happen? The terrorists used box cutters.

This place is a commercial airplane.

But sure, let's put people on lists and criminalize something that criminals surely will decide to stop doing.

Dangerous. The govt can put anyone they want to on that list names get duplicated, no controls. Seems like a great way to screw people out of the constitutional rights.

Are you in favor of of those on the terror watch list not being able to vote? How about taking away their right to free speech or we take all their property?

Yes because there are obvious reasons why some people in this country do not need to have their hands on an AR 15 assault rifle. Constitution or not, why does a person need this?

I don't like the very existence of the terrorist watch list to begin with, but if we're going to have it, I don't see its purpose if the people on the list are legally allowed to purchase deadly weapons. Just doesn't make sense to me at all. Are these people dangerous or not?

We already have. It has kept us good guys from some of the guns, silencers, etc. that we would like. It hasn't kept the bad guys from anything. They don't follow laws.

The idea that it is going to be used as some sort of tool to keep honest citizens from owning guns is tin foil shite IMO.

It may be tin foil shite now, but once it's discovered how easy it can be to manipulate people and threaten them with "watch list" it won't be tin foil anymore. And it will be too late to do anything. IMO, it's always better to err on the side of protecting rights than stripping them and then hoping to have them reinstated.

I guess it depends what constitutes being on a terrorist watch list. If I vote for the Constitution Party will I be on a terrorist watch list? We think this just means Muslims with an agenda but does it really? This could just be another way of taking away Americans freedoms. We have to look very hard into this one before we let this genie out of the bottle.
