Make it like the basin bridge. Trucks must stay in right lane at all times

yeah well, it'd help if they'd enforced this law.

Troopers in Louisiana only take Vegas trips seriously. Very rare to see them actually doing speed enforcement.

Not directed at you but one day we are complaining about all the speed traps on our highways and the next we are complaining about speeders.

I-12 East is now closed at LA 447 (Walker) due to an accident at LA 43 (Albany). Motorists are advised to use LA 447 North to US 190 East as an alternate route.
traffic on 190 is going to suck. If it were me I'd be tempted to head south of Walker and Denham and through Port Vincent, French Settlement and Killian to avoid the mess that will be on 190. It may take you a bit longer than usual, but atleast you wont be sitting in traffic

Don’t see any way possible for that to happen if history is any indication.

you could die in traffic at the 42/22 intersection in springfield right now and it would be a week before they found you

No.... lmao!

Trucks definitely are to blame for some of it. But it’s 99% jackasses who get in front of truck when there is little to no gap. Those trucks don’t stop on a dime, yet idiots will cut them off as if they are a damn Ferrari with brembo brakes. I have lived in Houston for a long time, there are a lot more trucks in Houston than over there. Yet we barely have issues here with them. It’s not the trucks, it’s the entitled drivers of Baton Rouge/I-12.

I was outside when the accident happened, I live less than 1/4 from the accident scene and heard AND felt several explosions in a row. I saw lots of gray billowing smoke, then started hearing emergency responders sirens and saw a chopper fly over the scene.
As of 3:15 traffic is routing down La 43 and I cannot even get out of my driveway

I-12 sucks...

They seriously need to widen it and make all 18 wheelers stay in the right lane...

It is damn near a straight line. I don't understand what the problem is

Okay I need to get to Mandeville tonight after work. Can one of you point me in the right direction. I'm guessing I-12 will be backed up for awhile

An article I read said the 18 wheeler crossed the center line hitting a suv which sent both of them across the median. I have seen this happen so many times. These trucks drift across the center lane and you’ve got to blow your horn. I hate passing 18 wheelers.

Let me clarify this for some of you. It ain’t the ones doing 77. I drive that stretch daily. It’s the people going 60-65 in the right lane. Then an 18 wheeler will see you coming up at 75 in the passing lane and whip over at 67 to pass the grandpa driving 65 in the right lane.

Also, ditto to whoever said people on phones. It’s out of control.
