That was a snowball stand on the corner of 25th and Jefferson in the Old Ibos Roofing Building. Many a day spent walking there as a kid. Then to the library.
I knew I wasn't crazy. Down by P&W in that old white house. I remembered the one on Tyler, by the hospital, but this one was fuzzy. Thanks

Not when it was brand new, all we had was the Star in Covington with 2 screens, mandeville had 4! Had a birthday party when I was like 10 there. Saw the first Christopher Reeve Superman movie. I think ET must have played there for 6 months LOL.

Does Saias still have that big arse cow in the parking lot?
Posted on 4/4/17 at 10:07 am to 4WHLN
Oh, yeah. It's mounted on a green trailer. I always wondered if they tow it in parades or something.

I have never seen that thing move in all my years in Mandeville. Hell, Katrina dint budge that thing.

Some kids tried to steal it like 10 or so years ago, but you can't really hide a big arse cow

It used to be St. Tammy Parish, but there were too many Tammy's.

Somebody, probably trashy little nerds, are dropping canisters of some kind of foam insulation on I-12 and letting them explode. It leaves a little pile of crap on the road that's usually a bright colored orange, or whatever.
They've been doing it for a couple of months now.

Abita Springs
Here's a historic tidbit about Abita Springs. J.S. Bossier was my great, great grandfather. His middle name was actually St. Ange, not St. Auge. Two of his sons were Confederate Civil War veterans and were both wounded and captured at Antietam.

Watch it Mister. That is where I got to Second Base the first time. That place is a national monument. BTW, it is now an event venue for weddings and parties. Weird to be in there knowing it used to be a theater. Would like to know how they got the floor flat in the big room.

No more than some of the other folks who are from, or have family from, the area. I find the area and it's history fascinating. Too bad it's simply become a suburb/bedroom community/refugee camp for folks fleeing New Orleans and the surrounding area.
