Y'all know the story about why PYC had to be remodeled? Not the inside, obviously. The pool area..

Do you know the Strains? They raise a bunch of cattle below Belle Chasse. They're from St. Tammany and are distant kin. One of them is/was a game warden, the other is Sec'y of Agriculture.

Watch it Mister. That is where I got to Second Base the first time. That place is a national monument.
quote:Yep, been there couple times. Pretty nice place.
BTW, it is now an event venue for weddings and parties

Too bad it's simply become a suburb/bedroom community/refugee camp for folks fleeing New Orleans and the surrounding area.
Amen brother. I can remember when going to Sonic was a big deal, hell I can remember when most of the streets in Mandeville were covered in oyster shells. I understand the White Flight, but the extent of the sprawl has really changed the vibe of West St Tammany. 190 is like Vets in Metairie.

I'd recognize their cattle before I'd recognize them
From what I understand most of the cattle families don't live around here

What year did the trace open up? I think it was like 94/95. It use to be train tracks.

Are you talking about the trail behind the primary school and state school area?
ETA - I'm not from STP

Paved bike path on an old railroad bed. It runs from Slidell to Mandeville and up to Abita.

My wife's friend from Covington married a dude that is a Strain. They have a big house over off Lee Road. I think he is in some kind of waste disposal business. They throw a hell of a Labor Day party btw.

Is it true MJH was the old MHS?
Yep, I spent 8th grade there and began as a freshman at the brand new MHS, graduated 1983.

How rich would the Sharps be if they sold their land?
Posted on 4/4/17 at 8:33 pm to Pectus
Where is the Sharps land and how large of a tract is it?
I know the Sharps go way back to the early settlers of St. Tammany. I didn't realize some of those large land grants had made it through multiple generations without being broken up and sold off.
