Tampa is a cool place. There are a ton of things to do, close to Disney, good economy, decent restaurants. I loved my time in tampa.

St. Pete > Tampa. Although St. Pete/Tampa are getting pretty maxed out population wise. Sarasota/Venice is great, just a little too old for my liking. And yes, the St. Pete area is the best place to live in Florida.

It's in Florida I think. Gulf side, which is the best side. Near Ringling Bros, and Amish bakeries.

The traffic is horrendous so live as close to work as possible. What area will you be working in?

We went in January. I was impressed with the Riverwalk area and downtown area in general. Clean and lots to do. Ybor was interesting. Clearwater Beach was fantastic. Would love to go back in the summer. Drove from Clearwater Beach to St. Pete Beach. Lots of interesting beach towns along the coast. Went to Ft. Desoto Park. Great campgrounds and beaches also. Want to see Bradenton to Naples next time.

There is an Amish restaurant called Yoder's which is pretty awesome home cooking. Their pies are unbeatable. It is in Sarasota and worth the drive.

I lived on Bayshore Boulevard for a period of time. The vistas of the water were fantastic, the winter weather was glorious, the proximate pristine beaches were stunning, but I thought Tampa was incredibly boring, generic, and parochial compared to other major cities.

Family? Clearwater area is great for families. Avoid the chaos of Tampa. Though you can go towards residential areas on the outside of town and be great too. Just don't live near Ybor, MLK, Nebraska avenue, etc.

I liked living in Clearwater more than Tampa. Is much calmer but the bridge is right there to go to Tampa for fun.

I will be there next week for Spring Training.

What is there to do in and around Tampa. I’ve done some research and haven’t found as much as I typically do in other travel destinations. My buddy and I plan on going to Bern’s for the steakhouse experience. We are going to Orlando at some point for Universal, a Magic game, and the Braves ST.

I’ve read that Ybor can be good for nightlife. Not really much else I’ve stumbled upon.
