Madeira Beach, Bay Pines, Seminole, even Largo or Gulfport are all great little places around St Pete. I love living here.
Screw Tampa and it’s traffic. You will be only 45 minutes from the beach but you won’t ever go, because traffic sucks.

Best city in Florida to raise a family?
This is too subjective. There are a lot of towns around Tampa that are really good to raise a family.

This was just going off of what a friend of mine told me. He and his wife are from Orlando but moved to Tampa for a few years.
According to him, Tampa/St. Pete is the best metro area in Florida and it’s not close. I like Miami too but felt weird as hell when I went there. I didn’t even feel like I was in the United States anymore.

I live in south Tampa, been here for 3 years, and I don’t know if it’s because my career is my prime focus or what, but I find this area to be pretty boring. Either way, there are much worse places to live, just don’t have as much time to spend searching or sitting in traffic to find hobbies after a 9 hour work day.
Also, good homes are hard to find and if you find them, you better have some cash.
