pretty ambitious to think that a Louisiana board would have insight on a town in the middle of nowhere Maine....
I bagged a bridesmaid from Maine at a wedding in New England once.
The rebel invaded the yanks that night.

from what i heard about maine is its its like going to canada with the cold and snow and with all the wokeness and liberalism you see in california.
Only near Portland due to all the proggy transplants from Boston.

Close enough to hit up Bar Harbor a couple times. Beautiful place.
Love that place. After wife and I visited there, found out from my aunt that my grandfather's family owned quite a bit of property on Mt. Desert Island. Aunt wasn't clear who sold it or why, but if I ever find out I'll curse that family member for doing so. I could be kicking it next to Bar Harbor in the summer on family acreage.

I’ve lived in enough places that suck.
When they suck, there’s nothing good about being there. Except getting paid well.

I do think that meth is a big problem up there though.

You live in Louisiana now?
I would fricking go just to get away for a couple of years.

Tell Me About Skowhegan, Maine
I’m sure tons of posters on here know all about it

This means it's white, poor, and old. That's why you have 53% female.

Their Cajun accents sound funny.

Seriously a lot of Cajuns and French Canadians settled in Maine. If you like the outdoors and hunting and fishing and so on you'll like it. Maine is rural and outside of the bigger cities it's poorer, but not poor like the Delta.

The scenery and fishing are the main reasons I'm thinking about going.
Does Canada Goose still make a good jacket? I might need recs for that.
ETA - Also it's summer in the The Woodlands, and I'm daydreaming about snow and cooler weather.

When the time changes in the fall, the sun will go down around 4.

Don’t miss the world’s tallest Paul Bunyan statue outside of Bangor when you’re up there!

Nah! About 4:30pm. The trade off is that in the summer sunset is 9:30pm and sunrise is 5:30

I've been in that area (Augusta) a few times but not necessarily Skowhegan . It's pretty and the summers are awesome. I'd do it just for the experience if you are a single baw with no kids.

Away from the large population center Maine is much like the south, full of rednecks. They just have thicker coats and better insulated mobile homes.
