I believe the phase out was only for select areas. Many people prefer the satellite dish option b/c it allows them to take the equipment to the fishing/deer camp, rv, etc. I did that for many years until Starlink came about.

It depends on location, severity of impaction, gag reflex, etc. Propofol is generally used, they will push just enough to put you out, but you will still be breathing on you own. Post-op pain varies from person to person, if they are impacted and the have to cut more, more pain. If they are fully erupted and they have emough tissue to stitch back over the extration sockets, there will probably be less pain. Work depends on how bad the extractions are and what you do for work.
