So you will not be living in Twin cities.

MN is a shithole overall

State taxes will rape you, if not the cold will.

gustavas is the only college i know of in that area, it's a good school, but you will not want to make the daily commute from MSP, you will be on your own in an extremely stuck up rural area.

My wife has family there and we have been to visit a few times. I like the family not the area. It’s cold and no mountains. They have some pretty lakes but If its going to be could
Might as well have some decency scenery to go with it. The mosquitos are horrible in the summer and housing is stupid expensive.

Look elsewhere if you can baw

I went to school up at The U before transferring to State. There was an entire week where the HIGH never got above -5. I'd walk a block to get Chinese and it would be cold by the time I got back to my room. The tunnels under and above ground downtown lessen the impact. The summers are humid and with 10,000 lakes it's mosquito heaven in the rural areas. I've lived (or spent significant time) in every part of this country besides the northern New England area and the Northwest. I've learned every place has tradeoffs ssp you just have to figure out what you prefer and how important that is to you.

If you're in health care and in the Rochester area, you can't get much better than the Mayo Clinic. If you want to commute but lessen the time, look in places like Eagan or near Apple Valley. I love the snow so I'm biased but I'd go for it as long as you stay clear of the sketchy areas and the congressional district of that terrorist loving POS bitch they sent to DC.

Very stuck up and judgemental about Southerners. When I told my people where I was transferring I could see their noses go straight up in the air. It was twice as bad as how I saw friends at State look at Yankees from the east coast.

I loved living in Northfield for the few years I was there. It gets a little sleepy when school is out for the summer, but the town is beautiful, scenery great, amazing schools, and things to do outdoors during all seasons.

If that is where you are referring to, I’m jealous. But the commute to MSP will be significantly longer for 5 months of the year. And if your girlfriend has no experience driving on ice or snow, I don’t know that making her commute 50 miles to work is a great idea right away if you are leaning towards the twin cities
