The coolest place as a kid to go to was shakey's pizza.

Holy shite, more memories. My cousin Joe (Fontenot?) had a band that played there so we went all the time. Loved that pizza.

Steamboat Bill's. And stay off the bridge as much as possible, use 210 loop

Geez if Lake Chuck can get a loop, why not BR?

now it's some traffic

You obviously don't frequent I-10E between Sulphur and the downtown Lake Charles exit at any point between 3-6pm on weekdays.

Or any of the back roads in between.

Complete. Clusterfrick.

But don't worry. Our fearless leaders decided to plan to shut down one lane on each side of the 210 bridge next year at the peak of all this construction. So that's going to be a blast.

One of the main reasons that I'm going to build in Sulphur. frick all that noise.

I've seen it in the mornings where it's backed up from the light on 378 past the bridge, back to South Perkins Ferry.

I'm the afternoons, I've seen it backed up from the same light last Pinederosa Park in Westlake

Just wait SlowFlow and Red, the new traffic patterns coming to the Nelson I210 Interchange will be all kinds of fun. One way flow of traffic at a time through the entire interchange.

I'm baffled that the area north of Sulphur isn't more developed. Why develop south of I-10 in Carlyss in old rice fields with no hurricane protection when you have areas with trees and semi-hills toward DeQuincey? Plus Holbrook Park and the bridge between Westlake and Moss Bluff if traffic is really that bad. Is it the Poche town school districts, or do people really want to live closer to hunting/fishing in Cameron Parish?

That area has always been considered red neck country with not great schooling. I assume that's what's held back development towards that direction.

How so? I lived there for about 10 years but haven't been back since my folks moved away while I was in college. Interested to see if it doesn't suck as much as it did growing up there.
