You're either young, naive or likely just both.

Nominating Ball's Fried Chicken - the location across from the funeral home and just up from the cop shop. Love how they put Tupperware on top of the cash register to keep the leaks off the electronics. Chicken has a hint of heat. Like old Sunday lunch chicken.

To get back to the original post, I would probably stay in Sulphur if I had a six week assignment. Especially if the work was west of the river. Grill some Market Basket sausage or boudin. Avoid most restaurants west of the river except Joe's Pizza. Uber into town for nightlife.

I'm down every few weeks for work now and food wise, I think it's incredible. Have been down 10-15 times and haven't run of new local places to eat yet. My only gripe is the night life. Besides casinos, I haven't been able to find anywhere to enjoy some drinks that has more than 10 people in it at a time. Anyone have a suggestion or two?

I'm in my late 20s.

Downtown is a mix of nice shops, restaurants and bars, not nearly as scary as BR downtown. South Ryan Street is full of businesses and restaurants, of course the area around the casinos has all the chain fast food restaurants. Love the cute houses and apts that are being build in the area around St Pats Grew up in LC, can't believe how is grown.

Been wanting to try Rikenjacks on the weekend. Will give it a go next time. I've only been once and it was a weekday night so not much happening anywhere. Great burger.

Once the casinos started moving in the number of night clubs tapered off. Jack Daniels bar is where a lot of people go. They get some good live shows there.

When I was there last summer they had the entire on ramp barricaded so you couldn't make either. Maybe they were doing some road work at the time.

Then that would be 210 west, right?
