I really don't think that Darrell was that old when he passed away. In actuallity he had nothing to do with the one in Jennings other than his name and receipe. They had to fight like hell to even get it open after he passed. Yes, the one in lake Charles has gone down. It's really hit or miss for a decent sandwich over there now. All the other good restaurants have been mention. 121 and mazen are some of our favorites for steaks and mazen does really well with fish. Yes, the traffic is horrible come around 4 and I pitty you if you're coming into town to work in the plants. It's a clusterf**** come 4-6 on the bridges. We do have a loop but both bridges have horrible ratings so be prepared to die

When people bitch about LC traffic, is it really that bad? Compared to Baton Rouge or Houston. Is it just having to wait a few light cycles on Nelson Road, or is it bumper to bumper on I-10/2-10?

LC had almost no real traffic for basically ever

now it's some traffic

the great thing about LC is that other than a couple problem areas (Prien Lake west of Lake to 210/Nelson b/c of the bottleneck that is the bridge and 210), it's a total grid and you can always find alternative routes

programming the lights at that cluster frick is difficult enough without letting people turn left onto that ramp

I can understand that but why close it for people turning right onto it?

Man, that brings back some memories. My Mom loved movies and my Dad liked to drink.
We always went to the New Moon so both would be happy. Had my first "date" there.(I was 10) Saw Night of the Living Dead.

You couldn't when I was there last summer which meant you had to pass under 210 and either loop around towards the casinos or take Prien. It was a PIA.

Redstick there's a Shakeys in Auburn. A few of my buddies and I were thinking of taking trip down memory lane and hitting it up one time when LSU plays at Auburn.
Of course it will probably be no where near as good as it was back in the day.

That place was great as a kid. My grandparents were friends with the owner, Gino, so we spent a lot of time there. I had both an aunt and uncle who worked there during college. They told me some of the things the workers would say behind the glass where you watched them make pizzas. Good thing there was no camera phones and social media back then.
