I was at Aloysius with his sister. The parents came in a few weeks before the murder and taught us about greyhounds. Shortly after they were gone. It shook the school. The sister was strong as all giddup though.

I found that he was sentenced to 40 years at Hunts but it only says he killed his mother. Did the father survive?

Yes. Father survived. He was stabbed in the arm. I can vividly remember being at the funeral and his arm was in a sling.
Honestly, that was probably the first time in my life that I realized that true evil existed in the world.
