I'll give you the short version. A troubled 16 year old shoots and kills his mother. You can call him a child or an adult, whichever makes you feel better but he is still 16. He was sentenced to a very long time in prison and when he gets out he will be unemployable and in his 50's. Was justice served?

Wasn't Edmund Kemper 16 when he murdered his grandparents? He got released from prison in his early 20s as a supposedly rehabilitated man. Everybody claimed how charming and friendly he was. Then he began murdering again.

I appreciate that you are trying to present a counterargument, but as was already stated, the idea of justice being served is subjective. Murderers aren't necessarily owed an opportunity to prove themselves just because they're young.

So he basically did 20 years. Sister and father had to of lobbied for his release. No way they would reduce the sentence that much without victim cooperation.

Damn, that's fricked up to think about. If my son murdered my wife or our other son still in the oven, I can't imagine how I would feel about him getting out early or having to weigh in on the situation myself as family of the victim and the murderer. It makes me queasy to think about that

I dont know the guy and the changes he has made in his life or whatever, but there isnt much you can tell me that would make me believe he only shouldve served 21 years for this crime. Like I said before, only thing I can figure is the surviving victims lobbied hard for his release.

Just happened in Texas recently. A guy was on death row for arranging his mother, brother, and father to be killed. The father who survived lobbied for his son's life to be spared.

The only people who feel good about it are people like you and me because we look at him as something that is potentially dangerous. The harsh reality is he's not likely to be a dangerous person but nobody is willing to shoulder the responsibility of letting him out. What if...

Like who should shoulder the responsibility? The father and sister?

Eye for an eye.

I gradiated mid 90’s. I don’t remember anyone dying in a wreck. I remember The girl who passed that someone mentioned a few posts ago. When I was a freshman or so I remember someone sitting on a tailgate and another person backing into her and crushing her legs, but she lived.
