A lot of these were early iterations of things that will eventually be commonplace.
Google Glasses might not have taken off, but the foundational technology of a HUD is part of the future
VR headsets are the first step towards VR rooms and holodecks
Metaverse is the same thing as VR / holodecks
NFTs were always a scam, anyone with brains knew it
Some crypto has value, most are just shite altcoins that are basically NFTs
Electric vehicles will play a large role in the future, they're just not ready yet and need to go through some growing pains
3D printers are forever. They can 3D print organs soon.
AI is forever as well.

Go ahead and list all the technology busts from the 90’s, 80’s, 70’s etc. you just don’t remember the failed offerings.
It’s the same reason why people think the 60’s, 70’s and other classic rock decades were filled with only hit bands. Nobody remembers the shitty ones.

NFTs themselves are not scams, they are a way to provide scarcity in a digital world.
Art-based NFTs are horrible investments at best and scams at worst. Art market son steroids.
NFTs themselves will be ubiquitous as more and more of the world moves on chain.
And blockchains will become increasingly important to prove what's verifiably real in an absolute sea of fake shite with AI.

You just have to go like really really fast. Like so fast you need an exception from the FAA to maneuver normally above their 250 knot speed limit below 10k feet

it's not that they can't fly slower, there are different airspeed rules for mil/fast movers in US airspace et al

True! I read that T-38 driver feels way more comfy at 350 than 250
Did you fly T-38’s or T-45’s in your military days?

Ummmmmm, the AI are going to use 3D printers to manufacturer physical beings of themselves. We’re going to need VR headsets to enter the meta verse to go and beg them for mercy.
They’ll show us no mercy because we failed the fool’s test by buying into NFT’s.
Crypto will be the backbone of the social credit system that won’t matter after the AI takes over.

Comparing Metaverse, NFTs and crypto to AI is like comparing Enzyte to penicillin.

The Segway scooter was teased and hyped before launch. It was a secret product that was going to revolutionize travel and be more important than the internet.

The owner of Segway (at the time) died when he drove his Segway off a cliff.

Here is my big question, why can't AI be used to stop AI used to destroy the world?
My biggest complaint of Congress has always been that they are always way late in legislating against new tech/business that can and will be used against the common good. Due to this fact, exploitation of new technology by criminal elements always has an advantage.
A simple fix would be to quickly pass legislation that AI, at this time, can only be used and developed for defensive advancements for the common good of society. This would put the responsibility on the developers and corporations to be held legally and criminally accountable if their AI is used for illegal or corrupt means against society.

Congratulations. If this philosophy was put into place during the industrial revolution, we'd still be living in log cabins and working the field until 9 pm.
You do understand that factories and automated design/assembly scared the absolute shite out of people during their time, put a frickload of people out of work, caused borderline civil war, but was eventually accepted right?

Your list was halfway decent until this. I'm an automotive purist, believe me, but EV's are absolutely the future.
