A couple of years after I graduated high school, my old english teacher was arrested at the high school at 8 am for dui. She hit 2 students cars in the parking lot while flocks of kids were walking into the school, then casually drove to the parking lot in back of the school to park.
When the police showed up to her classroom she was slurring words and could hardly stand. Somehow she didn't lose her job though. Her dad had passed away unexpectedly the day or 2 before and the school gave her a pass. But not the cops. She still won a dui.

Had a teacher that acted somewhat similar in 7th grade. Unfortunately it was duh to Alzheimers and passed away about 2 years later.

I had a HS teacher who kept a bottle in his desk. We saw him taking a swig pretty often. He told us it was “back medicine”. No one told on him. Great guy.
