I mean if you were shooting at somebody and then they end up shooting you, it is technically a little bit your fault

It's the OT, you check your expectations at the door. I joined the USMC in 2007 and served another 8 years, and when I first started posting here I had some frickfaces doubting me or straight up calling me a liar.

Anyway

You're right about this. Going back to it now.

There are 24 hours in a day. You can post and still appreciate the sacrifices made so we have the freedom to post.

I attended a ceremony at WNC Veteran Cemetery this morning right outside Asheville, NC. The guest speaker was a Gold star mother - mother of Matthew Bolar, who was KIA in 2007. Though it's been over 15 years, her pain was palpable. She has found mission is helping other Veterans in remembrance of her son. Rest easy Specialist Bolar.

If you so worried about it why are you posting on Memorial Day
You don’t need to post on TD to observe Memorial Day

Your post also reminds me how the SEAL mafia tried to derail Chapman's MoH recommendation because it made them look bad.

Did you ever think that maybe people are just out enjoying the holiday with friends and family instead of sitting on the internet ?

Uh what? Memorial Day is not something you "celebrate" but recognize/observe.

Really? This is where you draw the line? Lack of overt patriotism on a website?

Not the low education? High std rates? High illiteracy rates? Poverty? Crime?

But yeah, no one on a message board is yelling “ROCK FLAG AND EAGLE!” enough for you so that’s the line.

I served in the USMC during the years of 1983-87 and we lost people in training accidents some of the best people on the earth decent, capable, hard chargers who would have held viable lives of matter.

I lost an older cousin in Vietnam which was the reason for my enlisting.

A lot of TD members show respect for our departed freedom fighters.

I joined in 86, the 80s were a great time to be junior enlisted in the military. No cell phones, no social media, you had a ton of leeway as long as you didn't cross a line.

Read every name as I ran by today. Had to be 500 flags and names. Thought about all of them and then came poolside and started drinking beers appreciating their sacrifice

None of you seem to give two shits about why you're drinking beer on a Monday.

My man, I already shared the video footage to this incident earlier this morning.

There were 6 other US service men who died on that mountain top that day... one them being my friend Brad.

You’re not wrong. Most people today are hot garbage. And they live here.
