If you do any type of sport, find a color that helps you with it. Otherwise, go with a Grey that will work well for driving.
Needing some sporty glasses I got some Oakley Flak 2.0 XL online at SportRx. Expensive to start with, but you can change the lenses yourself to match different sport needs or to update later. SportRx has their own line of lenses, so you're not stuck with only Oakley lens prices.
You can go to Lenscrafters to test Oakley frames, but if you buy there, it will be even more expensive.
If you don't want to go that route, smaller eyewear dealers often have WileyX brand, which are a good value brand--high quality but not as expensive as Oakley or Costa.
Get them polarized. Makes a big difference in reducing glare.
Hope that helps.

I finally bit the bullet and got glasses this year. I went to Lens Crafters (I didn't know where else to go).
For prescription sunglasses, Sport RX. Upload your prescription, choose your lenses, coating, frames, etc. and in a few weeks the glasses arrive. Have ordered several pairs from them.

I'm going to do that next time thanks! Will probably get polarized as well.

Im 60. Three years ago there was still at least one US factory that would make glass lenses in about a week. I did that, and wow. If you don't have a giant prescription and thus thick heavy glass, that is the way to go. Most eyeglass places can do plastic on site, but have to send away for glass lenses,
I went to Eyemart Express and picked the frames and they sent specs in to the glass factory and fit the glass when it came a week later.
Glass is superior to plastic lenses in every way, except weight.
Worth an ask...

That's where you're wrong. Don't go cheap on prescription sunglasses. The difference in quality is substantial.

My prescription sunglasses are progressive and were about 400 at eyemasters. I've had them 4 years and they are in bad shape. Im in the pool a lot and they go to beach. They have spots and pock marks all over them. Going to eye doctor tomorrow. Has anyone used Costco for glasses?

I did Zenni. Less than $100 out the door, and they're fine. I still use non-rx costas when fishing, because I can't cast further than I can see clearly.
I tried to buy some Maui Jim's at a friends store. With the Rx, the MJ's were $750. I couldn't do it. Leaving them at a restaurant or scratching them would wreck me for a year plus.

If you have a large head, the best pair you can find will be Maui Jim Peahi’s. They are expensive but you have options, I’d be glad to explain if you’re interested.
Maui Jim
I’ve owned so many different types bc I’ve worked outside since college and I fish constantly. Costas used to be great but when they were picked up by Oakley their stuff went downhill, even though I do have a pair of the Reeftons with the tiger shark frames.
Edit, you can get a nice pair of glasses on eBay, I’ve bought every style of frame from eBay and I have bought lenses directly from Maui Jim (I can figure out the company if you’re interested)I don’t have a prescription for my eyes but the Maui Jim lenses are, in my opinion, the best on the market. I’ve tried the third party lenses and they don’t compare.

Transition lenses. They turn dark when you go out in daylight.
Use a lint free cloth to clean them. You can't clean them with just any old thing.
