Taking babies to restaurants

I would estimate that more than half the time I go out for a sit-down meal there are parents who brought along kids who are not actually eating a meal. Wtf ever happened to getting a sitter? Listening to babies squeal or squall is not pleasant for the others dining there. Listening to mom or dad threaten or beg is annoying. They allow toddlers to wander and pester others. It’s like trying to have a meal at a daycare, After a while everyone around is treated to Baby Shark or Cocomelon being played over dad’s phone to keep the kid(s) quiet. I had kids and have grandkids but only take them to family-friendly places where they are not disturbing adults. It’s trashy on the part of parents to be so inconsiderate.
Also, I get yoga pants are comfortable but in social settings I just do not understand the need to display the butt crack. Most of the women wearing them should not be
Old guy has spoken. Get off my lawn

Go to a real restaurant with a higher barrier to entry and lay off the Olive Garden.

What do you call not family friendly?
Honestly asking. Which restaurants specifically?

Why the downvotes? Dress like a respectable person and keep your annoying kids at home should be universally applauded.

I would rather listen to a baby squeal rather than the fat black lady gossip on speakerphone. At least the baby has an excuse. It’s a baby.

If you start taking children to decent restaurants when they’re young and if you can actually act like a real parent, then as those kids grow up they’ll be polite and respectful members of society. Only taking them to “family friendly” places just perpetuates their poor behavior and lack of social skills.

Yeah go frick yourself. I work 60 hours a week, I want to see my kids as much as possible when I’m off.
Plus I save $50 on paying a baby sitter

Need more info,
What restaurant were you at?
What time was it?
Are we talking Restaurant August with a 7pm reservation time? Or 5:15pm Cheddar's at the mall?

You sound like a total a-hole. I’m sure whoever you’re eating with is not enjoying your company.

Unless it’s a high end restaurant then those kids have every right to be there just like you. Yeah the parents that let their kids run around the place and say stupid shite like “you gotta pick your battles!” are annoying fricks. But kids are going to be loud and unpredictable until a certain age. You have to take them out to restaurants and get them used to being in social settings like that in order to help them learn how to behave.
Our general rule that has worked is if our daughter starts getting loud and doesn’t settle down after a few times trying to correct her, we leave. We’ve only had to do that a couple of times though. She caught on pretty quick.
If you don’t like dealing with people then perhaps you as the adult should stay at home and avoid it. Because whether you like it or not, children are part of our society.

Right. Or when you have the table where everyone has their phone out with volume all the way up and playing instagram posts.
When it comes to children at a restaurant, it’s the server/busboy cleaning up after that I feel for the most.
