What sort of lessons will a 2 year old learn from this? How to burn the house down?

Some people don’t use their kids as an excuse to not do things. Bring them along—they will be worldly experienced at a young age and thank you later.

If putting my kids first and foremost over the comfort of introvert anti social strangers who sit in the corner and people watch while complaining to each other is trash, then yup I’m trash.

I completely agree but that doesn't mean I agree with hearing the crying/incessant whining, games or tv at any volume without headphones, or children running around or climbing under tables. Those things are not acceptable in restaurants. A little squirming and learning is cute and going to happen. Parents not parenting is not cute ever.

I would say that babies to non-high end restaurants are fine because it's hard to find a babysitter and the baby doesn't know any better.

What's more annoying to me is when a kindergartener-aged kid is acting like a toddler and causing a scene in the restaurant. Or when grandpa is talking on speaker at a restaurant and disturbing others.

Those parents who let their kids roam are lazy. Seems to be the rule rather than the exception nowadays.

OP is a hallmark reason why society is going to absolute shite. The family unit being a community feeling and joint effort so to speak is dead in so many ways. I feel like growing up it was so much more common to see families eating in restaurants with kids and such and nobody thought to complain

I asked him to cite examples of which restaurants.

Your idea could be true or could be silly

The fact that you think there are places where your kid can act up is disturbing. I was never allowed to act an arse at Kmart either. I feel you are a dumbass if you cannot control your kids in any public space. I was taught at home not to scream and cry for things and I was taught to settle down when I was told to do so. In public, I knew better. Until I was old enough to learn I did not get to go.

Also, I get yoga pants are comfortable but in social settings I just do not understand the need to display the butt crack.

I see you still avoided my question.

Can you give us a list of the locations where this last happened? Ideally at least 5.

How to save money. How to eat quality food vs overly salted/sweet food at a restaurant. Bonding time between you and kid. Not to mention the health aspect of it. Plus your 2 yr old can run around and not be bound to a chair and screaming when it doesn't get its way.

I would estimate that more than half the time I go out for a sit-down meal there are parents who brought along kids who are not actually eating a meal. Wtf ever happened to getting a sitter? Listening to babies squeal or squall is not pleasant for the others dining there. Listening to mom or dad threaten or beg is annoying. They allow toddlers to wander and pester others. It’s like trying to have a meal at a daycare, After a while everyone around is treated to Baby Shark or Cocomelon being played over dad’s phone to keep the kid(s) quiet. I had kids and have grandkids but only take them to family-friendly places where they are not disturbing adults. It’s trashy on the part of parents to be so inconsiderate.

Also, I get yoga pants are comfortable but in social settings I just do not understand the need to display the butt crack. Most of the women wearing them should not be

Unfortunately modern health codes mean that not many restaurants these days will prepare outside foods.

Such are the pitfalls of bureaucracy

My kids first restaurant was at 4 days old… you might have had a stroke grandpa. We didn’t have any family within 1000 miles and were tired of hospital food when we got out. Have gone out weekly their whole lives, they know how to behave.
