If you have any sisters, sounds like ol’ stepdad might be trying to trick them out of their drawers.

He was helping the sister that got stuck in the dryer.

There are tons of call-recording apps. Use one and get them on audio

If this is a fraud perpetrated by the new husband, the TAF can fix it by canceling the tickets and giving them back to your father. Unless, of course, the new husband is a much bigger donor.

Was your mom also on the account? Was it clear they were your father’s tickets in the divorce?

Guessing this is the missing pertinent detail here.

Regardless, Sonic is the appropriate venue for mediation.

Seems like their could be some theft/identity fraud type charges somewhere.

dollars to doughnuts you are leaving out the side of the story about your moms name being on the account too

Get bent for not giving the entire story

Oddly, it’s usually the son “tricking” the stepmom, not the stepfather “tricking” the dad.

Many facts not provided:
How did mom & dad divorce end? Amicably or fighting?
How friendly are mom & dad?
How friendly are dad and stepdad?
Are you saying stepdad intentionally defrauded the ticket office to get possession of the tickets and the ticket rights?
Have you contacted stepdad to get an explanation for his actions? What is his side of the story?
Was mom contacted to discuss and what is her thoughts on the situation? Does she or does she not support the actions of her now husband?
Was stepdad asked to return the tickets and if so, what was his response?

After these are answered, you can then discuss whether you need to get the ticket office or police involved.

The details matter to get a complete assessment of the situation.

If they had checked the account details — address, phone number, even the stored credit card — it was obviously my dad’s, not his. But instead, they handed everything over, and now my dad has lost the seats he’s paid into for decades.

You need to beat the shite out of your stepdad and tell your mom she won’t be seeing her grandkids again until she gives back the tickets.

I'd sue the shite out of that guy. He's basically committed fraud by deception.

If the OP isn't going the legal route and the guy won't voluntarily give them up, then I'd make him continuously pay in slit tires and broken windows. Personally, I think the OP is full of shite.

Also, it appears that OP has stopped answering questions so I'm not sure where this is at or where it's going.

You need to get an attorney, get him to tell both TAF and your stepdad that you're about to sue and it's going to be very public - as evidenced by this thread which you can show them. Tell them all you're going to sue for attorney fees, emotional damage, and all that other shite. It should work. I saw something like this on Law and Order once.

I didn’t read this entire thread, but if what you have said in your original post is literally true, call the police…that’s identity theft.
