I just went down a quick rabbit hole:

Say you have a one acre lot.

1" of rain on that one acre lot is equal to 27,154 gallons of water.

So, 10" of rain on your 1 acre lot would be 271,540 gallons of water.

Divided over the past 5 hours, that would mean you would have averaged 54,308 gallons of water falling from the sky on to just your one acre lot.

A gallon of water weighs 8.33 lbs.

Therefore, 2,261,928.2 lbs of water has fallen on your one acre lot over the past five hours.

Good grief.

What I can tell you so that there is a Vet that we board our dog at...Highland Animal Road hospital. It butts up against fountain bayou and water was in their parking lot in 2016. They were developing plans to evacuate the animals to another place (can’t remember if they pulled trigger or not).

In addition to there, I’m genuinely curious about that new neighborhood on Burbank and Seigen curve. That thing had to be jacked

Judging by this flood map from 2016 it's fricked.

Rain is coming sideways now, wind howling, trees bending.

Legit worried about a tree falling or tornado at this point

Anyone got info on Starring and Burbank?

I drove through on Burbank about 2 hours ago and Burbank was still passable during the heavy rains.

I know we had to go rescue people in that area in 16. Swamp Rd area will be under when sun comes up. The swamp was already high as giraffes nuts and has been for weeks. Guys with cattle back there were moving them out since they had nowhere to graze.

There was actually a thread about this recently. Bayou Paul Rd washing out saved a lot of Bayou Fountain/ Burbank area in 2016. Iberville Parish has been trying to prevent that from happening again. Combine that with all the new neighborhoods and we’ll have to see what happens.
