I had a 2015 with the tech package and had zero issues with it. I loved it, sold it after the divorce because it was a second vehicle for just me and it was paid off so I got high dollar for it.

My buddy in Atlanta has a 2023 Type S and it is absolutely gorgeous for a car. The massaging seats are pretty amazing. he said he paid around 70k for it I think.

Someone mentioned the size of the vehicle, I love the size of the MDX. It is big enough to fit 4 normal adults comfortably but the 3rd row is a joke.

Have a '19 MDX Advanced package. SH-AWD is nimble and a good drive in sport mode but I feel the car is severely under powered in normal mode. The lane keep assist works well but I really wish there was a way to turn off the adaptive cruise control. It sucks! It's my wife's car but use it a lot when I go out of town for work because it gets about 26 mpg. on the HWY. So far only regular maintenance. No mechanical or electrical issues.

My wife has a 22’ model and the only thing that I hate is the media screen.

It’s not touch screen and you have to use this stupid mouse pad to navigate it. fricking stupid.

You need to do a full transmission flush (including the torque converter) and filter. The jerking/surging will stop. This needs to be done at regular mileage intervals. Most Honda's don't like old transmission fluid. That and a liquid filled engine mount are the only issues my wife's has had at 170k.

Will say only good experiences here. Not anything over the top but 3 years in and all has been perfect to expectations

Wife has one. Very nice. Reasonable priced considering everything in the market (and the market pressures going on with used cars still)

Originally she wanted a Grand Cherokee but the MDX was a better value and much nicer inside.

2016 MDX (bought in 2015 for wife when our first kid was coming) checking in, will roll over 100k miles this year.

Best car we have ever owned. Even has a handy maintenance book that lists exactly what needs to be done and when, so I can feel a bit better the wifey is taking care of it.

Tires and regular maintenance has been it so far. Will drive until wheels fall off…or maybe give to the kid in another 8 years.

You'd be the minority of MDX owners.

I had one for several years (wrecked). Great car and like any honda needed a timing belt at 100k miles.

Otherwise take care of them and they take care of you.

I have over a million miles on that engine. (3 different cars) The timing chains have never been replaced in any less than 180k miles. That 80-100 that they tell you is bogus. Also, never flushed a transmission on any of them.

Had one with 175k miles and another that I gave to my nephew with 150k miles. Nary a problem had. I’ll be buying another here soon

I love mine - I love that it drives like a Honda and not a big, boxy suv. Only things I hate are that mine doesn't have remote start or auto wipers. I have to turn my wipers on by hand like a peasant. The 2017 accord I traded in had both - I assumed those were basic features by 2021 when I bought mine. They apparently aren't. And I have the technology package. Assholes.

I would assume so, but if you make enough of anything, you'll make a few subpar ones. I would also assume that gradual changes to the components over time without large-scale changes causing new problems made later year models more reliable (and quality more repeatable) in the typical Japanese manner.

I find it amusing that my post got six downvotes... by militant Honda fanatics I suppose.

ETA: the warranty loaner cars from the Acura dealer are tiny. We are not small people (I'm 6'6") and I fit in the MDX frontseat OK, but when my ex picked me up for lunch once in the loaner sedan I barely fit.

Bought my wife a '23 MDX in December, the wife loves it. We actually like the mouse pad thing. Also all '23 models get free oil changes and maintenance for two years. Classic in Beaumont gives us a loaner for oil changes and then washes/details our mdx upon picking it up.

2022 has the auto wipers with the tech package but I think the remote start is part of bull shite subscription service

They’re using Kevlar belts now. Supposedly good up to 100k miles.
