Look I am not trying to be virtuous here... But the best dog I have ever had is a rescue... It is almost like he shows me that he is appreciative that I saved him... which I did.. The sneaky vet techs told me that he was going for the big haircut the next day if he is not adopted... That was 15 years ago and he is still running... Although he just puked up his breakfast.. which he does sometimes...

If you aren’t buying a dog for a purpose and you simply want a couch friend or a cool looking lab to ride around in your z71 Tahoe paying top dollar makes no sense

If you are going to work the dog it matters

Steal one from your neighbor and dye his fur like I did. Also don’t forget to change his name because if you yell “ here neighbor’s dog “ it will be a dead giveaway.

Some of our best/ friendliest dogs we had growing up were dogs that would just show up. We lived out in the country. It’s insane the money people are paying for dogs. It’s a sham imo

Absolutely. But if you have 6-8 puppies that’s $30,000. It ain’t that much work I can tell you that.

This. I’ll take a rescue dog every time and will never support the over breeding problem in this country.

Well the fee for a puppy usually includes all of the initial vet bills and trips to the vet. All of that takes time and money.

If the sell price is $3750 ea, sure.

So what? Let people make money if the market allows it. Capitalism and all.

White women on Instagram have ruined everything.

They are all buying doodles which aren't even a officially recognized breed. AKA a mutt.

Not that there is anything wrong with mixed breed dogs. Just funny to pay a premium for a dog with no breeding standards.

I got a lab/German Shepherd mix from the shelter and she was only 8 months old. Best dog ever.

Shepherds are next level dogs. They are incredibly loyal.

We got a Husky/GSD mix from the pound and he has been the best dog we have ever had. He doesn’t bark, has manners, is not an overly excitable dog, and doesn’t have to be right up in our faces. We appreciate each other.

I think getting shelter dogs is great, and most shelter dogs I know are great dogs.

I just refuse to have a dog that sheds in my house, soo that limits my breeds.

We have a rescue. She’s the best dog ever. She’s also half pit. Great around kids, great around people. Never snaps. She’s almost 11 now. Two TPLOs, a mass removal. She’s had a life.

But shelter dogs have sometimes had circumstances that force them to act in a way we deem unacceptable. More so than bred dogs. I don’t think breed has much to do with it.

I’m older so I only get older shelter dogs. Have only had a problem with one. Great dogs. Very appreciative and loyal.

Both of my shelter dogs are awesome. There might be something wrong with you.
