Only people I’ve heard of that ever had anything bad happen to them in Mexico were those that were somewhere they shouldn’t have been or up to no good to start.

Problem is, we normies don’t really know how deep the cart tentacles reach. It appears they aren’t targeting tourists. Most likely under strict orders to not harm tourists. (There was a strict kill order for anyone involved with harming Americans for a while and I would assume that still stands)

Does US forces step up the tempo in the coming weeks? Definitely possible. Would that equate to violence against tourists? Surely there will be less tourists by that point so you will be, by default, more likely to be in the cross hairs.

If you do decide to go, I’d practice saying ‘yo Holmes’ and ‘what’s up esse’ like a loco gringo. Surely that will carry some panache.

Got back from Hyatt Ziva yesterday. It’s fine. My xfer bus had cold beers, flight was on time.

I had plenty of fun times in the shite hole of Mexico. Not the resorts. The actual country itself where my communication with the locals was drawing pictures because I couldn't speak Spanish and they couldn't speak English.

Most people go to a resort and think they traveled to the country itself. frick that. I went to a Sandals resort in Jamaica. What's the point in staying in the resort? I wanted to see Jamaica so I go and see and eat with the locals. That's the point of traveling to other countries. I can go to Destin if all I want to do is sit on a beach. That's not me. I don't have fear of Mexico. Going to certain parts of Africa would be infinitely more dangerous than any part of Mexico.

Yeah went once. It was alright but Hawaii was so much better.
