Learn to read a map. Yucatan isn't anywhere near what's been in the news bro. Yucatan is the same as it has always been.

You’re fine. We got back last night. Best vacation in a long time. CUN Airport is arse.
Where are you staying?

Anyone who willingly travels to any part of Mexico deserves it if something happens to them.
And honestly I would have said that before this latest shite went down.

That’s a hell of a statement chief.
You wish harm on your fellow countrymen if they booked a resort in Mexico and went?
Yikes.
Ever been to a resort there?
Safer than any major city here.

No they will just shoot the s**t out of you. Have a good time

Absolutely not. Upon landing don't even go to the hotel. Ask your driver to take you straight to Chilly Willies. Thank me later.

I thought the OT was full of bad asses. Seems a lot of guys here are really just pussies posting from their trailer too scared to go to New Orleans, NYC, Chicago and any foreign country

You live in a city where it’s not uncommon for random murder, robbery, assault, and carjacking to take place.

I have been to a "resort" once in Puerto Vallarta. It was basically an average hotel that happened to be on the ocean. We were told "don't leave the resort".
I stepped off the resort once and that was to go play golf. Seemed innocent enough until someone at the golf course stole my credit card info and ran up a $2000 bill.
The entire infrastructure of that country is shite. The police are crooked. I didn't really feel safe at the airport. There are plenty of great vacation spots around the world better than Mexico

Mexico and cartels have been going at it for years. This is not new. Cancun is fine to travel.

Cartels don’t shite where they eat, going to be some very cheap deals in the near future. Extended weekend stay at an all-inclusive with flights from Houston will be under $1k.

Strongly agree, make alternate plans!

Americans shouldn’t go to shithole countries

Cartels are going to stupidly try to change policy by affecting tourism. I expect, short term, some bad things will happen to innocent people just trying to relax and have a good time
Even with the latest issues, I haven’t heard of tourist being hurt or killed. Cancun is probably safer than most of the top tourist cities in the U.S.

Until you get drugged at the pool bar at the resort and need hospital care, which costs in the thousands for tourists...
I saw that story and thought it was strange that they chose not to pursue this situation any further, refused to name the resort or work with the authorities, in Mexico or the U.S.
