So you cant answer

How shocking. Muh taxes on americans

Are you literally retarded ? Our import costs are up 15% depending on what week with the Trump clown show. Those costs are passed on to the consumer. So, is a 15% hike significant ?
quote:

How much more are you paying in taxes on daily used gooda cause evil tariffs?

My company has no profit margin on our imports because of tariffs and the cost of those tariffs are passed along to the consumer at about 15% . That just my business, but all costs are high.
quote:

an you show me where I ever said otherwise, dipshit?

And you are touting tariffs as a good thing ?   It's a fricking tax on the American people and contrary to what you have ben lied to about, manufacturing isn't coming back to the U.S. because of tariffs. So, yeah, you are a major dipshit.

legit conservative.

What makes anyone in the MAGA orbit a 'Conservative ?"

Right. Off you go. Back to the sidelines to wait for another opportunity to jump out and get in your laugh emojis at people who actually bring shite here for people to discuss while offering exactly nothing of your own.

I'm actually an importer and you are a clueless dipshit. The importer pays the tariff to the Revenue Department. The entire cost of the tariff is paid by the consumer. Nothing more, nothing less.

Why are you importing from China anyway? Are the transatlantic options that much more expensive?

Can’t imagine paying for pacific and canal transit times are fun.

We are not importing from China at present. The only real options "pre" tariff were Turkey, Vietnam, and Eqypt (not so much). Cement from China was very good when they had capacity to export.

Cement cost from Turkey : $60/MT
Ocean Freight from Turkey; $ 20/MT
Unloading lower Miss River: $5/MT
Landing cost in barges: $85/MT

Cement is over $140 MT now.

Am I understanding that your compa y is basically an import middleman?

No, we are also users of what we import. We import to keep the multinational cement companies honest and we also sell to make a profit.

And promptly passes that along to every down the chain, who in turn does the same. Imagine thinking importers are just eating the margin No, they raise your price at the counter and you reimburse them.

I’ve already seen the hilarious pivot today on this board several times “that business/company isn’t owed reimbursement! They passed it on to the consumer so they didn’t lose anything!!”

Huh ? The cost is passed to the consumer.

Grifting ? The Board of Peace is a huge grift for the Trump/Kushner family to profit from "rebuilding" Gaza. Having your sons sell crypto is a huge grift. Selling Trump bibles is a grift. I can go on all night.

We got hit yesterday with $4K in tariffs on an $80K order. I challenged them today on it about whether or not the SCOTUS ruling negates it or what now.

People are being hit everywhere and in every industry,

ecause tariff costs are not passed through! Only foreign governments and importing firms pay the tariffs. Passing them on would raise prices and I’ve been told for a year now that tariffs absolutely do not raise consumer prices.

You made $10 million profit and are decimated less than two years later? Definitely a management issue.

Yes, our cement import division is not functioning.

If what you say is actually tru3, then the market will correct itself. New suppliers will enter the market.

No they wouldn't. It is a monopoly. Why? Because people don't know the difference between cement and concrete. It's not a sexy industry.

Is it true that Chinese cement is an inferior product?

For the most part yes. China has two cement plants that produce cement that would be accepted in the U.S. that would meet ASTM C-150 specifications for either type I/II cement .

So you do not understand business. That's fine. But it's not tariff related. It is a management and mitigation issue.

Tarrif related ? It's our business to import cement and distribute it. Tarrifs have had a detrimental impact on our bottom line. The U.S. cannot make the needed cement for the construction industry. For at least 30 years, the needed cement has been imported. NOW, the tariffs are causing huge price increases. Are you an imbecile ?

Oh, it's much deeper than that. It's a multinational monopoly that is not American owned. There dumb fricks in the U.S. don't know the difference between cement and concrete.

It seems like not paying tariffs on Canadian cement could offset logistical concerns.

Maybe your competitors already figured that out.
