Morgan Spurlock, the documentary filmmaker best known for “Super Size Me,” has died. He was 53.
He died Thursday night from complications of cancer, The Post can confirm.
“It was a sad day, as we said goodbye to my brother Morgan,” his brother Craig Spurlock to the outlet. “Morgan gave so much through his art, ideas and generosity. Today the world has lost a true creative genius and a special man. I am so proud to have worked together with him.”

Oh well.
He was a sensationalist who deceptively edited his “documentaries” to push a viewpoint even when it defied reality.

How dare you besmirch John Oliver like that.
Crazy to die so young. Cancer is a bitch. Didn't he do the Super High Me documentary as well?

Type of cancer? Chances it is related to McDonalds?

I watched the Super Size Me documentary years ago.
He said in it, that his girlfriend/wife (at the time) was a health nut, and they ate extremely healthy normally.
He also did a food doc about the chicken industry and how the farmers ger screwed by Tyson and others.

I see he hailed from Parkersburg, WV.
A quick Google check on their water supply issues from DuPont dumping crap has me wondering if there’s a correlation.
Shame to die so young. RIP

Haven't seen anything specific, but note the bolded parts:
quote:
In 2003, Spurlock's supervising physicians observed effects thought to have been caused by his high-calorie McDonald's diet at the time, comparing it to a case of severe binge alcoholism.
Following Spurlock's 2017 assertion that he hadn't been "sober for more than a week in three decades," his claims of liver dysfunction being a result of eating McDonald's food have since been called into question.
Detractors have also suggested that Spurlock's calorie and fat counts don't add up, but as he did not release a log documenting his actual diet during filming of the documentary, no follow-up calculations are possible.

He had essentially been eating vegan all natural food for years then in the first scene went and gobbled down a supersized qp meal and went all drama queen when it made him puke.

53 is too early to die.

It depends on what you mean by "sensationalism." He correctly portrayed what would happen if you ate nothing but the Supersize portions at McDonald's for a whole month. I'm just not sure how many people have really eaten nothing but supersize portions at McDonald's for a month.

I liked the part is Super Size Me where he throws up out his car window and then asks the cameraman if he's ok.

I'm not trying to pile on the guy, but he effectively ended his own career by admitting to what he called "a history of sexual misconduct," including a rape allegation.

No, he didn't. Among other things, he was very likely a heavy drinker at the time, which would affect both calories consumed and liver damage.
