The breakdown of the 214 district court judges by law school is as follows:
Southern University Law Center (SULC): 33% (71 judges)
Louisiana State University (LSU) Paul M. Hebert Law Center: 32% (68 judges)
Loyola University New Orleans College of Law: 21% (46 judges)
Tulane University Law School: 7% (14 judges)
Out-of-State Institutions: 7% (15 judges)

Those numbers are terrifying. And out of those judges some get onto an appellate court where they can do just as much if not more damage.

I think SULC’s classes have long been around 50% white. People who can’t get in to LSU Law and don’t want to pay Tulane/Loyola fees tend to go to SULC. Lots of lawyers kids go there. I know lots of successful SU grads in the practice.
Meanwhile, it does seem silly for the law school with the lowest bar passage rate to open a satellite campus in Shreveport. That’s politics.

If I remember correctly they also allow you to go part time. So adults who have a day job can take evening classes.

Yeah I think Gov Mike Foster went to night school at SULC. Not sure if he ever graduated or took the Bar.

The whites that go to SULC go just to class and then GTF off of campus to study.
At LSU there obviously was a ton of places to study all over campus.

Some poor law schools produce outstanding advocates. Some renowned schools produce terrible lawyers.

Takes at least 2 to do anything at the appellate level. Unlike the district court. I think they do more damage on the district court bench.
