New vacancies by the plants will eventually get filled by blacks or the price will drop until it happens.

As far as the supply goes, there’s about a 16 year turnaround between new births and hoodrats able to get their place. Possibly more depending on whether they end up at the gray bar hotel instead.

Wow, really?

I go to a lot of notoriously sketchy places (Compton, for example), but the only place I've ever felt unsafe was walking through a residential area in Oakland.

It really be ya own damn city..

Yep

OAK - 21
BR - 43

We're also out-pacing last year's murder rate by 11 murders

At that rate, we're on a course for around 140 murders for the year

Also a hot summer usually equates to more violent crime. People have less patients in the heat, and tempers flare more easily.

That and people are not hanging around outside at night, when it it is cold or really cool. Once we get to this part of the year (90s during the day, but in the 70s at night), the weather doesn't stop people from staying inside so the illegal activity increases.

You think that people have to be alive to vote

Don’t be so naive.

I would figure doctots would see more patients when it gets warm....for stuff like heat stroke and stuff.

Parkforest, Sherwood Forest, Broadmoor, Shenandoah were all great places. A lot of friends lived there. Hell, what is NBR today was still habitable.

Most of those areas aren't too bad now except for Park Forest. I'd be pretty nervous if I lived in Sherwood right near Florida. The north side of Florida is complete shite right there.

It truly is the Sharon Weston-Broome effect. Since she took office, things in BR have gotten so much worse.

Oddly enough it isn't. It looks pretty rough but you rarely hear about crime there. There are a lot of Hispanics living there now.

Sherwood between I-12 and Old Hammond has gone completely downhill.

We don't have much crime at all in our neighborhood. The occasional vehicle burglary or stolen package is about all that's happened in the 5 years we've been there. I'm not sure if it will stay that way.

The area isn't that rough. It's mainly the apartments between i12 and Old Hammond and East of Sherwood that are all pretty much all low income. Some of those are worse than others, but mainly it is limited to Blvd de Province. There are pockets like this everywhere in EBR Parish, not just in this area.

The neighborhoods sandwiched around and in-between those apartments like Wickland Terrace are still remarkably solid. I know some folks who live in Aubinwood off N. Harrells Ferry and they have no problems. And that area West of Sherwood where Maison Lacour is is far from rough. I hit up that Reeves Market every now and then and have never felt unsafe.

I go to Reeves all the time. That stretch of Sherwood was ruined by Blvd de Province and those other Section 8 apartments behind Jack in the Box. Rite Aid and most of those convenience stores attract a questionable crowd for sure.

I don't know if the explanation is this simple, but it's true. High temps = urban murders

Well, animals do move more during the summer months.
