Because they make billions creating health scares. Just ignore the fact that autism-spectrum diagnosis has exploded, not because more kids are actually autisic, but because the definition has been watered down. Just like ADD/ADHD. This is what happens when bottom-of-the-barrel medical doctors get MPH degrees because they are now offered as an easily obtained option with minimal academic standards.

When I was a kid things were simpler. The daddy rice would have sex with them mommy rice and they would have a bunch of kids that we would eat for dinner. Now it's all scientists and microscopes.

The problem is the average idiot has no clue what "genetically modified" means. So naturally it must be bad

Who would have guessed that the folks that make this product want it sold more often around the world?

You weren't aware that cancer rates keep increasing, autism rates increasing, alzheimer rates increasing, obesity increasing, autoimmune disease rates are drastically increasing, nutrient deficiencies are increasing, etc.? It is fairly well documented in the medical industry.
There is this thing called pollution that has fricked up the world. Dumping chemicals and waste anywhere we please has consequences.

That’s because life expectancy and our ability to diagnose diseases are improving. Jesus, why can’t people think before they post dumb shite.
I think you need to do a bit more research on the topics. Your statement applies in a few areas and not in a few areas.
And your point does not refute the fact they don't know what is causing it all. Sure, maybe we were this sick all along but it is also possible we weren't. Until they find root cause, you can't claim either way. The only way to figure it out is through testing and studies. Why try to deny science? Let science do its thing.

Agreed. Many of the chemicals are also being dumped on food supplies. We should be studying the impacts before making blanket safety claims.

Would the planting of the Golden Rice come with the Monsanto type stipulations and protections that prevent keeping seed rice for next year?
Necessitating new purchases of likely sterile rice every year? That’s a crock if so I wouldn’t want it.

Yes, they do. Overall global cancer rate increases are directly tied to increases in life expectancy.

Plenty of Greenpeace individuals believe we are a parasite on the Earth, and wouldn't hesitate to cull 95% of humans.

Why would blindness surge? It seems as thought it would just stay the same.

No matter which side of this issue you fall on, everyone should read this book. It is eye opening, even if you don't buy the politics behind it.

Fear of science on both sides of the aisle is terrible.
Actually in the world of GMOs, a healthy level of apprehension is not a bad thing. My issue with the science is the speed at which we are moving. Sure, you can splice gene sequences from one plant to another to gain resistances or adding vitamins, but the plant you are borrowing it from has millions of years of DNA to go along with that, what are we leaving out? Also, cross-contamination between GMOs is another huge concern that has never been fully vetted, or close to it.
Another huge issue is the interpretation of patent laws when it comes to GMOs. You are taking a product that farmers own and placing an implied ownership of a "technology" on a necessary foodstuff. See the endless amounts of litigation around Monsanto and their practices.

Nutritional blindness is loss of useful vision resulting from vitamin deficiency. A malnutrition Xerophthalmia means all the ocular manifestations of inadequate metabolism of vitamin A, nutritional blindness being the end result of the most severe cases.

As far as I can tell, it’s not banned anywhere.

The general non GMO attitude comes primarily from the lack of safety testing on these foods. They are assumed safe without having to show anything. With everyone getting sicker as a whole, nobody knows what is making everyone sick. People will rationally start with things that have not been proven to be safe as potential risks.
Except that there is safety testing done on these foods, and there is not a scientific reason to believe they are harmful. The quoted text is the exact argument anti-vaxxers use.

I see you've already been responded to. Cancer, alzheimers, auto immune can all be related to an aging population. Adhd, can be related to a better scientific understanding(what you advocate for) of who should be diagnosed and some clinicians who are overeager to diagnose it in questionable cases.
Obesity increases because we are a comfortable, wealthy, spoiled stable country.

People are living WAY longer and get cancer and Alzheimers in the older years when they would've previously already been dead in prior generations.
The obesity thing is just lazy stupid people getting fat causing a ton of co-morbidities.
The autism thing is just getting diagnosed more. They used to just call kids retarded and throw them in psych units.
