after she criticized school's 'woke ideology and repeated white shaming' and refused to use chosen pronouns.
A group of high school students in suburban Kansas City organized a walkout over a teacher who went public in an online op-ed about her problems with the district's diversity, equality and inclusion policies.
The students at Shawnee Mission North High School were met with counter protesters who support English teacher Caedran Sullivan's outrage. According to her LinkedIn page, Sullivan has taught at the school for 15 years.
Students accuse Sullivan of not using the correct pronouns when addressing transgender students and of critiquing non-white students experiences of racism, reports Fox Kansas City.
'It's not acceptable that she's still here, and that she can post all that stuff on the internet, and that's OK,' student Destiney Hall told the station.
'I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but when it's so controversial like that, it can be uncomfortable for other people, especially if they're teachers,' another student, Lil Enloe, said.
The counter protesters were encouraged to be there by the Johnson County Republican Party, according to a report from the Kansas City Star.
Sullivan herself has not commented on the most recent protest but has given public interviews, including one to Fox News last week, as well as writing a follow-up online op-ed.
Pictures from Fox Kansas City showed around 60 students with signs outside of the school. Signs read: 'We are skipping our lessons to teach her one' and 'Take action against Sullivan.'
'For her to say that diversity is white-shaming, I don't think that's the point at all. Because you're in a POC school, you have whites, you have Blacks, you have Indians, Mexicans, people from all different cultures. And you also have people in the LGBTQ+ community,' Washington told the Star.
'So I think that maybe you need to learn about that. Because while you're educating us, someone needs to educate you about what's going on in the world now,' she continued.
Many of the counter protesters who showed up at the school were former educators.
'Just because we're teachers doesn't mean we leave our constitutional rights at the door,' Maria Holiday, a retired teacher and counter protester told the station.
One of the organizers, Laveanna Washington, told the Star that a group of students decided to walk out after going to the school board about Sullivan's behavior and getting nowhere.

'We've come a long way from getting away from segregation. This is bringing it all back. It's ridiculous and it's being taught in our schools each day,' another counter protester, Debbie Detmer, said.
'I can no longer stay silent about the state of our schools. I will be attacked and threatened, but for the good of our district and the students with whom we are entrusted, I must speak out. This is too important,' the teacher began in her diatribe.
In that piece, Sullivan said that teachers in her district were being 'manipulated and intimidated' by a 'woke ideology' being pushed the school board.
Sullivan wrote that teachers are being told to push a 'strong anti-capitalism, anti-conservatism, and anti-American bias' on students.

So they capitalize every other group in this story but white… I’d imagine this is the type of shite the teacher was speaking out about in the first place

Proof that they want to force you to accept their delusion.
Its not enough to be able to be what they want, they have to force you into it as well.

These articles tragically read like a Babylon Bee write-up.

Mrs Washington seems like quite the xenophobic racist. They are Native Americans or First Nation if you don't care enough to use their proper Nation. It is also hispanics, not Mexican, this is people not food.
