I wish we’d stop referring to opinions shared by a hundred-million Americans as “controversial”

At a staff meeting this month, we were told we should refer to students by their preferred names and pronouns during the school day, but hide from the parents the fact that their minor children are transitioning at school. The district conceals the transgender policies from the public and will not release the DEI presentations we are compelled to watch.

That's not good.

That means Jimmy must be called James and Suzie must be called Suzanne. Lisa must be called Elizabeth and Tommy must be called Thomas. Is that really want we want to force?
if the alternative is jimmy wanting to be called suzie and Lisa wanting to be called tommy, yes.

Lets be honest. This is what happens when parents become their kids friend instead of their parent and allow them to freely do whatever they want because "thats who they are".

I told this story on here awhile back, but a few years ago I ran into a teacher I had in HS. A black lady. She was telling me how she only had a few more weeks of the fall semester before she retires. She had planned to stay until she reached a certain age, but if she didn't retired there was a chance she could have been fired.

Now when I had her she didn't give a frick. She was a good teacher and she didn't tolerate too much. She was brutally honest and she would say shite to the black students that would leave everyone just quietly looking around at each other.

She was an Algebra and Trig teacher. I had her for both. She had away of making sure the students who didn't apply themselves and put no effort into the class didn't stop the rest of the kids from learning. Like I said, it worked when I was in school in the mid to late 90s, but the reason she decided to retire earlier than she planned was because a parent went to her classroom because she was pissed off her kid had been corrected and "no one talked to her kid like that". So she let the mother have it. The mother went to the office.

They didn't tell the mother anything about not going through the proper procedure to meet with a teacher (I think they had to check in, I would imagine if parents were allowed to enter the classroom whenever they wanted it would get out of hand). They actually sided with the mother and told her she had to find a different way to manage her classroom.

It seems like thats how schools are run today (public schools at least). The teachers have no control and the administrators side with the parents because thats the easiest way for them to deal with them. Actually all it takes is a few parents like that, but kids are growing up not knowing what its liked to be disciplined and no one is allowed to discipline them. So no matter what they do, it will turn into chaos.

Thats the crucial that the "local media" just happened to forget to report on with this administration all the while allowing the kids to spout off some bullshite.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, one of the worst things society has done over the last 30 years is perpetuate the idea that kids opinions matter at all.

Respect your existence? Girl you are living freely in the USA. Just cuz you want to be called a ze/zer doesn’t mean you can force someone to take play in your delusion and that isn’t denying your existence.

She probably forgot them. They’re easy to overlook with all of the minorities, genders, and affiliations to keep up with.

An entire generation of mostly hopeless, deranged, easily-triggered sheep, looking for something to be offended about. All controlled, manipulated and indoctrinated by social and mainstream media. Thanks, Groomers(D)!

This is so true. Current kids 16-24 or so are constantly triggered. Somewhere along the line, they learned that if someone hurts their feelings or says something they don’t like, then they have been wronged. And their feelings matter more than anything else. They have to run on pure emotion. If they didn’t do that, they’d be forced to actually think and use logic.

You could’ve consolidated this into one paragraph. Apparently you never paid attention to your English teachers.

So, what's wrong with being uncomfortable? Does only ONE side get to be?

I think teachers should be allowed to call the student by their chosen name or their legal name.

So if someone wants to be called two names, like Jim Bob or Bobby Joe, and that’s their “chosen name” that’s great. What if I choose to be “Ligma Nuts Smith” and want you to just call me Ligma Nuts?
