Just being there and keeping the kids quiet is a major win. Please don’t waste your time worrying about us.

The physical stroller is what’s bothering you?
At least if you were bitching about poorly behaved kids being disruptive I’d get it.
But the stroller itself? Who gives a shite?

When did this become a thing?
We have a rather large church, and I had never one until about 3 weeks ago. Strolled around until they could find an end seat. Parked the buggy in the aisle. Left the baby in it. Which made it extremely awkward for the people trying to sit on the row, and almost impossible for the row behind, because the handle stuck out across the entrance to that aisle, plus the young parents were clueless to their surroundings
The stroller hasnt been back since. I dont know if they havent returned to church, or someone told them not to park the stroller in the aisle due to a "fire code" rule, or something

A church without strollers is dying.

One of the silliest posts I’ve seen in the last day or so, excluding the guy in the nursing home thread.
I think you’re the one who is soft.

I seem to remember Jesus getting upset about people complaining about kids coming to him

We brought the baby carrier in and rocked them in the pew

Our church doesn't have a cry room so you hear the babies in mass. As long as they aren't screaming excessively, who cares.

When did this become a thing? This was unheard of when I was growing up. Even when my now teenage kids were babies this was nonexistent. We brought the baby carrier in and rocked them in the pew or took them for a walk. It looks like a stroller derby lately. Soft as society.
Why aren’t you just glad that parents are getting their children in the house of God at as early an age as possible?

and interacting between the pastor and congregation is not really up my alley
What do you mean by this?
I grew up in a church in which the pastor greeted everyone that walked past him at the exit after the service was over. Shook everyone’s hand and knew most of the congregants. Those that he didn’t he learned their names and invited them to come back the next week heartedly.

My church has a Cry room in the back for parents of young kids. Sort of like box seats where you can see the sermon but the room is sound proof and the sound is over speakers.
I used to entertain myself during Mass by turning around and watching the toddlers have melt downs.
I'm pretty sure we didn't even have a stroller when we were kids. I think we were just expected to start walking right out of the womb and help out around the house.

never complained about children in church, just the strollers
My nephew was deployed years ago. His wife had 2 newborn twins and was 1,000 miles from the nearest family member. She took the babies to church every Sunday. It would have been hard to carry both of them, the diaper bag, her purse, and her Bible. She used a baby carriage and later a stroller. Nobody ever complained about it.

Imagine judging someone. While in church.

Our church has a cry room, but if you get there late the seats will sometimes be taken up by sick elderly people who don’t want to sit with the public, or this one particularly obese person that finds the pews too uncomfortable.
Back to OP, you can’t possibly know everyone’s situation. One person gave an antidote about a young mother with twins, have seen others use it just as a matter of convenience, we bring a stroller because we walk 3 blocks to church every Sunday it doesn’t rain. Point is, they are going; as long as they aren’t being completely inconsiderate why does it matter

You’d have hated to see my kid in evening service (they had children’s church mornings). She’d sometimes roll on the floor by my feet and wiggle and whatever. I’d get so embarrassed, but an older Christian friend said to leave her be and would bring her coloring books. She grew up to love the Lord and has faith. Jesus doesn’t care the kids are in strollers or are wiggly or even if a baby cries. I loved hearing the kids in church. So does He.

I think most people, who are around a family that allows their kid to move around and somewhat entertain themselves, enjoys it because... everyone likes to see a kid be a kid and at times they will do something funny.. And most parents are aware if their kid gets to be "too much". You can tell when the parents are on the edge and don't want their kid to bother anyone.. Its the parents who don't care at all if their kid is bothering other people or if their kid is being too loud.
As for as this stroller situation, I don't see why it would be a big deal. If someone brings a stroller and the kid as at peace when they put them in there.. They are not bothering anyone else.
